We are one week away from HalloweenTime '17 debuting at the Disneyland Resort on Friday, September 15th. The old standby favorites will all be there in Disneyland; Space Mountain Ghost Galaxy, Haunted Mansion Holiday (so sorry @Kira Nerys), Halloween decor around the park, Halloween Screams fireworks, etc.

But this year the Halloween fun expands south to DCA too. We've already got a thread going on the Monsters After Dark overlay to Guardians of the Galaxy, but this thread can track the new decor and park changes in DCA besides Guardians.

Specifically, Cars Land gets a Halloween overlay, dubbed Haul-O-Ween by the cars.

Luigi's Rollickin' Roadsters becomes Luigi's Honkin' Halloween, with new Halloween songs and new decor at the ride. Mater's Junkyard Jamboree becomes Mater's Graveyard JamBOOree, with more new Halloween songs and decor.

Over at the front of the park, Buena Vista Street also gets a Halloween decor package, using the Nightmare Before Christmas as inspiration.

It should be interesting to see how this compares/contrasts with the popular Halloween decor and offerings 100 yards north at Disneyland!

Really disappointed by Cars Land decorations. What a waste of potential to have "Candy Cone"
They did the candy cone things in DCA 1.0

It wasn't the best idea.
The only good thing about it was the candy corn decorations they use in bugsland. It would be a bit to repetitive. It works in bugsland becauseheimlich loves candy corn

Work continued late last week and over the weekend. These photos are from Micechat and taken this past weekend. The Labor Day heat wave finally broke and while it's still in the 80's, dare I say that it feels like the seasons are changing in SoCal now?

I like where this is going.

Meanwhile, in Cars Land...

Spiders made out of distributor caps and wires! It always impresses me how clever Disneyland's decorating team is in Cars Land.

The tree in front of Lizzy's Curios Shop has grown through a creepy old jalopy. I wonder what the spooky story is here?

Lizzy has swapped out her roadside signage for all new merchandise. In grand DCA tradition, the puns never stop!

Across the street, Ramone has given his House of Body Art store a new theme based on Dia De Los Muertos. The big decorated hoods in the windows have all been swapped out for new Dia De Los Muertos versions. Clever!

Ramone is very good at his craft, that's for sure.

The Cozy Cone Motel continues to be transformed into the "Brakes Motel" for Halloween. Get it? Cones? Brakes? Bates?

Still a week left and several locations untouched (Luigi's, Mater's, Courthouse, etc.) and none of the lighting elements work yet, but it looks like this is going to be a very clever overlay for Cars Land.

Is everything going to be up by next weekend? We're doing a last minute trip, and it would be awesome to see all of the new decorations first hand.

Looks great, although based on the concept art, I'm not sold on the decorations on the Carthay. Fingers crossed it ends up looking good!
