Never thought the space-aged Collector would be using power sources on par with early 20th Century hotels.

I would have loved to be blown away by this room. A two story sea of containers. Or a space-age power supply room with colored lightning surging and pistons pumpibg. Make me feel like I stepped into a fantastical alien enviorment.

All of that would've cost money, time and creativity. Far cheaper and easier to just put up some lights, spray some graffiti and pretend it's not a half-assed overlay.

First Look: Collector’s Fortress Arrives at Disney California Adventure Park

by Erin Glover, Editorial Content Director, Disneyland Resort

Throughout the past few months, a mysterious new presence has been emerging at Disney California Adventure park, and today we have your first look at The Collector’s Fortress. This enigmatic building is home to the soon-to-be-unveiled Tivan Collection, where guests will view the rare items in Taneleer Tivan’s extensive holdings, including his newest acquisitions: the Guardians of the Galaxy.

The fortress shimmers with colorful and sparkling details; pipes cross and climb the exterior, carrying the organic matter the Tivan Group has mined to power the massive generator that powers the entire building, keeping every cage locked and the valuable collection secure. Rising and falling gantry lifts peek out of doors exposed through the corroded, burnt metal, and it even looks as if the structure may have taken laser fire and blasts. Has someone tried to attack the facility?

Take it for what it's worth but marni1971 who is active ( and has good insider info ) on the wdw boards here just mentioned the marvel area for DCA is going through changes. Budget is being reduced and the attraction mix to be built is being changed. That's all he said.

I'm not sure how recent this development is, it wasn't a good sign when the Marvel expansion apparently moved from the backlot to the expansion pad behind Hollywoodland.

She must mean First Look for non Nerds? Lol. My favorite line is "Has someone tried to attack the facility?" Ummm No. You mean the lightning damage that wasn't rethemed?

So that's how they are explaining away the bits of the ride that are left over from the "lighting blast" on the original TOT... Saying someone tried attacking the building in the past.

I really couldn't help but laugh at that article. I actually like Erin Glover, but girl, the building certainly doesn't "shimmer" and "sparkle." I don't see anything on the building that looks like burnt metal, and the building was supposed to have been attacked? I can't tell.

You don't see all the serated edges from TOT where the top floors crumbled away from lightning that they just left?
