Alright gang here we gooo!

Departure Day -Feb 1, 2017

I set my alarm for 7:15 am, and when I got up Brook was already coming out of the shower. My FIL was picking us up at 8:45 that morning for our 10:30 am flight. The plan was to arrive at PHL at 9 am. He picked us up a few minutes early and off we went! No line at security! Brook walked right on thru the metal detector, but I was stopped. The TSA agent said they were picking up metal on my thighs. Ummm...maybe lard, but I wasn't smuggling any metal. She asked me if I wanted a private room and that she was going to have to pat me down. I told her there was no need for a private room. She did her search and off we went! I stopped to buy my traditional Cosmo magazine and then we went off to find some breakfast. Brook decided she wanted McDonald's so we strolled over that way. Found 2 good seats over looking a runway. We ate, watched the planes take off and talked about our upcoming plans! After eating we walked over to our gate, but as usual it was packed so we sat at an empty one. We like being the last ones to board, so we're not sitting there for 20-30 mins. While waiting to board I got this guy...

We hadn't even left PA and our room was ready!! Awesome!!! We were happy with the location, we just really didn't want buildings 1 or 7(furthest from lobby and food court). The flight was nice, I read and Brook slept and listened to music. We landed early and made our way down to the ME. The bus wasn't crowded at all and off we went! We got to FQ and Brook made a beeline to find Elsie. I waited at the front desk to ask about upgrading to AP's. I thought it could only be done at the parks or DS, but we upgraded right there!! SO EXCITING!! The merchandise discount was so nice!! Brook came over and said she didn't see her and asked me if I could ask a CM if she was around. The lady we asked said she had moved over to POR! Sad, but no big deal. I knew I'd be in for a few boat rides lol. Our first of which would happen after lunch. We were hungry, but didn't want to eat too much as we had an ADR at Chef Mickey's . We dropped our bags in our room which was perfect as far as location goes! Literally a 20 second walk to the food court!

Brook ordered kids chicken fingers and I can't remember what I got. I'm thinking it was soup. From there we strolled down to the dock to visit POR. Guess we strolled a little too slowly because we missed the boat by seconds. By the time we got to POR we were told that Elsie's shift had ended 15 mins earlier. Rats! We missed her! From there we took a bus to the MK and hopped the monorail over to CM's for dinner.
I was able to move it up to 5pm as opposed to 7pm I believe. We decided to hit up the MK afterwards since we had the AP's now and didn't want to get there that late. We arrived 15 mins early and checked in. Decided against a picture, watched the parade of characters and just relaxed. Our buzzer went off first! We were the first ones in and first ones to attack the buffet. We enjoyed the food and desserts, the characters not so much. I had originally booked this meal when I thought Kevin and Mia would be joining us. It was just awkward lol. We are super fast eaters so we left before they could make their rounds again. I explained to the waiter we were supposed to have a child with us so we were more interested in the food.

She'd kill me if she knew I posted this pic of her with no makeup! After stuffing our traps, Brook did some shopping. She wanted a new pin lanyard and a few other items. When she was done we took the monorail over to the GF so she could stop in Basin, her fave store on prop. That birthday and Christmas money was apparently burning a hole in her pocket. She decided on 5 bath bombs and then we headed over to the MK. We were tired by that point and didn't do much but take in the sights. We had such a nice day, fun, relaxing and always exciting!

I live in Louisiana and they are still selling King Cakes here. They now decorate them in pastels for Easter, hah! I had enough during carnival season that I can't stomach them past Mardi Gras.

Enjoying your report!

Thank you!
I'm sure the King cakes can old rather quickly lol...they are sweet! Pastels for Easter sound pretty tho!

Day 6...con't

Soon it was time to hop over to Epcot for our 6:35pm ADR at GG. The dinner menu changed since Kevin and I had eaten there in the summer of 2015, so it was kind of a new experience. The restaurant was very busy, but thankfully we were seated right away. Everyone enjoyed the salad and rolls as well as the turkey and mashed pots. We didn't care for the sausage and peppers, well just the sausage really because it seemed under cooked to both Kevin and I. We showed the inside of a pink sausage to the waiter, and asked if we could have some more but well done. He said it was just the way it was always prepared. Of course what he brought us back we didn't eat because that too was pink and chewy after taking a small test bite. Oh well! I loved the sweet potato fries and didn't have to share because no one else cared for them! Yumm...gimmie! Most of the pics were very unflattering so here's one lol....

While eating, Brook was able to snag us a Soarin' FP for 8:20. Kevin was excited to ride since he had only ridden once before in 2013. This would be the second time for Brook and I getting able to ride the new version. We liked it, but the curving at the top of the screen is a little off putting. We decided to to some browsing and shopping on our way back to FQ. It was so nice out that night that we all decided to just sit and relax with our mugs at one of the outside tables for about an hour before getting into bed.

It is pretty sad when you politely offer up a criticism of how something is cooked and they give you a replacement that does not improve the original condition.
I expect more

Still following and enjoying the TR

Thank you!! I'm not sure how it could have been eaten like that?! But it was the same at breakfast 3 days earlier...the links were white on the outside and pink in the center....blechhhhh:hungover:

Yikes! I will keep this in mind as GG is on our "must do" list for our next trip. I certainly would not have eaten it looking like that either - no way am I gambling with potential food poisoning! Even if that's they way it's normally cooked, they should have been able to provide you with a "more well done" sampeling as per your request - It's like burgers at restaurants that are usually cooked medium, I always ask for well done and they advise it will take a little longer to make sure I'm okay with the wait, but they always do it.

Day 7...Feb 7th...Kevin's bday

Kevin and Mia woke up early and decided to go to Epcot while Brook and I slept in. She had really been complaining the whole trip that her feet were bothering her which was a first. This was actually the first trip for me that my feet didn't bother me ONE BIT! I felt bad that it was her rather than me. Anyway, we slept in and around noon finally decided to head over to Epcot. Of course by then, Kevin and Mia wanted to swim so as we headed out they were on their way back. I had 2 missions I wasn't going to miss out on at Epcot. My first mission was to find 'Nsync's leave a legacy lol. I'm in a Facebook group for Disney nuts and someone posted a pic and the location, so I just thought it would be something neat to see. They ended up being really close to ours!

I wanted to stop by guest relations and ask if they had the locations of any other celebs, but forgot. Maybe next time! We decided to grab some lunch at Electric Umbrella. It had been years since we've eaten there. I think Brook was in a stroller last time we ventured in. It was pretty crowded and it took us a few mins to find a table. I got the french dip burger and she got.....shocker....chicken nuggets. Brook says Disney has the best chicken nuggets and makes sure to eat her weight in then whenever she can. My burger was good, but really big and I couldn't finish it. We both got the pineapple-coconut slushies, which we couldn't finish either. Great choice going with the dining plan this trip:banghead:

After lunch it was time for more pin trading and my second mission. Brook found something she liked enough to make a trade and start a new collection. We strolled over to Canada so I could get what I was looking for, which was this guy....

150thpin.jpg

I wanted one for Brook for 2 reasons, her Dad's side is Canadian and she's been there many times to visit. The second reason? If you haven't realized by now....she LOVES PINS LOL!!! I heard thru one of my many Disney forums that if you are from Canada you can just get one. If you're not and want one you have to answer some trivia questions. I've never felt dumber. The CM asked us....''Name 5 Canadian born celebrities.'' Right away Brook yells out ...''Justin Bieber!!'' So I say, ''Alanis Morisette, Mike Myers and Dave Coulier!'' We need one more...we're both like...''Uhhhh....ummm....duhhhh'' for like a minute which was awkward. Finally Brook says...''What about a hockey player?'' Kevin is a huge hockey fan, loves the Flyers so I've been forced to sit thru quite a few games in the last 5.5 years that we've been together. I drew a complete blank! Couldn't think of one players name! Finally I blurt out...'' Sidney Crosby(not a Flyer btw)?'' Yay!! We got all 5!!! The CM gave us our pins and off we went, laughing at how dumb we probably seemed. We walked to the UK pavilion which is my absolute favorite spot in the WS. I love the stores there. We browsed for a birthday gift for my mom who's bday was the previous day(Feb 6th.) Yes that's right...the most important people in my life were all born within days of each other! My sister is Jan 30...Brook is Feb 3rd...My mom is Feb 6th...and Kevin is Feb 7th. His nephew is the 8th and his mom is the 12th. Phew! Needless to say, having all those birthdays 6 weeks after Christmas is insane at our house! Anyway, we ended up not finding anything for my mom, so we headed to France. I'm a HUGE Francophile! My living room is alllll Eiffel tower pics and decor. Did we stop and browse for me? No, there was no time for that! We had to race to the American pavilion for funnel cake for Brook. We got her treat and then she decided she couldn't go on anymore. Her feet were killing her so we walked down to the Friendship boat dock. I couldn't remember if we had ever ridden them, so that was something new for her. It was blazing hot and the boat was packed. I would have rather walked, but I couldn't be a mean mommy and force her trek back around the WS. We left Epcot and headed back to FQ. I had dinner plans and a bday surprise for Kevin:inlove:

Being born and raised in the Great White North we did not have to answer the trivia question.
I am glad you named 5 and were able to get one!
