I don't know what exactly to say, but I felt as team manager I should say something, so, on that note I'm just going to post some irrelevant disney gifs.... :D

I'm posting this on the main site, so the other team, and others knows my reasoning.

I've had a family member pass away yesterday, and I've been put in charge of the designs and layout for the funeral this weekend. From creating programs, to doing slideshows, I'm swamped from Friday to Sunday night. I won't be able to work on anything. I don't even think I'll be on the site.

I apologize for the short notice, wish both teams luck with the extra time!

Welcome to Disney Animal Kingdom: The Waterhole!

This brand new water park, adjacent to Animal Kingdom, is based on an African land filled with different landscapes. The main pool is called "The Waterhole" and is in the middle of the park. Then, circling the park, there is a lazy river similar to the one in Atlantis, pretty wild! There is also Mount Panthera, a hugh complex near the waterhole where there are many slides, including family tubes, racers, and many more. Then, you have four corners of the parks with different attractions. The bottom left is the kiddie pool, with elephants surrounding it and a slide made of bamboo held up by some elephants. In the top right, you have a fancy aquarium, with a dark ride leading into it. Also, the lazy river flows through the aquarium. In the top left, you have the show stopper, Magofu ya Jua, which means ruins of the sun in Swahili. Lets jump in!

Backstory- The Third World Expedition crew has set up a adventure through the fabled flooded ruins deep in the jungle of Africa

Facade- I would expect the facade to look similar to this:
f45d226e3f0106d6cba523e855e6efc1_zps3cd054b9.jpg

Queue- The guests would pass through the jungle and through a make shift camp that the Third World Expedition has set up.

Ride vehicle- The guests will board a POTC style boat, with 5 rows that have 5 seats

Ride Experience- You will enter the ride vehicle right outside the entrance of the ruins. Once aboard, you enter the dark, mysterious caverns of the ruins. There are torches throughout so you can see the marvels carved into the walls. Then, after a couple of rooms that include carvings and tons of gold, you hear a loud scream. Wondering what has occurred, the TWE stops your boat and tells you over the radio that one of their other boats has disappeared, so as a safety precaution, they are going to send us back. The boat starts to slowly go backwards, but a wall comes out of nowhere and blocks you into the room. Freaked out, the TWE tells you that everything will be ok, but to hold on. Interrupting the man is Mfalme (the king), the king of these ruins, who appears on a projection above the guests. He yells out, "SILENCE MORTALS! I am Mfalme, the king of these magnificent ruins. You have intruded our land, and you will pay!" After this, the boat starts to shake using hydraulics underwater, and Mfalme starts to chant in Swahili. Eventually, he screams, "AWAY WITH YOU FOOLISH MORTALS!" After this, the roller coaster starts. While he is talking, the water starts to drain around your boat, so when you are given the cue, you drop 100 feet down straight into a 95 foot drop into total darkness. You will then go through many twists and turns in total darkness. Right before it ends, you will hear Mfalme scream and narrowly avoid a giant serpent that he summons to eat you.

Thrilling, right? Then in the bottom right, you have an expansion pad for further growth. Here is a layout drawn on my iPad.

Sorry about the very general concepts, we had some trouble with members posting and what not, so this is what I could scrape together. Good luck to Team Fantasy, and thanks for making such a great contest @jdmdisney99!

Final Challenge:

Team Fantasy's proposal for the final challenge is Mount Pelé, a new indoor water park for Walt Disney World Resort.

It will be located in the Magic Kingdom Resort Area, in between the Ticket and Transportation Center and the Contemporary Resort.

jgi8.png

ty6s.png

elevation-jpg.37172

This allows the Ticket and Transportation Center to be expanded, to become the parking lot for not only the Magic Kingdom, but Mount Pelé. Bus Transportation can be used from the Magic Kingdom or Ticket and Transportation. To get to Mount Pelé, you can take the Monorail, A Newly Themed Elevated railroad people mover (from Wilderness Lodge), or Boat Transportation.

Mount Pelé is perfect for the unpredictable seasons in Florida, because it is enclosed. If it's raining or cold that day, and you have to use your Water Park ticket, you can still go! This is also good for Floridians... Think about it... How many indoor water parks can you name in Florida?

mvwh.png

A - Wave Pool

Drift across the 4-ft waves of Polynesia.
With waves few feet less then Typhoon Lagoon's wave pool, this wave pool's grand, but not enough to take away from the other water park on property.

The coolest thing is the four story waterfall splashing into the wave pool. *Waterfall part of the wave pool will not be accessible to guest up to a certain feet away*

B - Wailua River

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zW4hIraoG74

Relax as this river takes you through various levels of the volcano.

This isn't your classic lazy river. This river is elevated, using jets to transport guests up and down the various floors of the volcano. You would assume that it would be more of a slide going down, but with the slow elevation and jets, it actually makes each tube slower.

C - Tiki Statues

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HQloLdEEuhs
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tKUuJmeiqLg

Toddler Pool Area with bubbling jets, small slides and playful squirting tikis.

A Toddler Play Area will be featured on the first floor right next to the lockers and the Wave Pool.

D - Floating Islands

Try to balance on the rocks, if you don't you might fall off!

The classic "Float Walk" takes it's place in Mount Pelé, being in between the kids area and the wave pool makes this attraction the perfect spot for family fun. Disney's Photopass will be available throughout the day.

E - Ala Moana Surfing Beach

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fYPnVx7vDcg

The Tiki gods have put a spell on a pool and now the waves won't stop! Now, it's the perfect place for surfing!

You've seen it on cruises and at other water parks, now experience it the way only Disney can do! With excellent theming it will look like the "wave" is coming out of rock work. The surfing pool will have jets going up, making the "wave" for guests.

F - Rain Fortress ft. Stitch

Stitch's House has been filled with water! Join Stitch with Lasers, Children's Slides, and other contraptions in this water
wonderland!

Stitch's House isn't your typical water fort. Alien water guns light-up with water and interactive animation lights up on the floors and walls. With water fun mixed with games you can't go wrong!

G - Wailua Falls Racing Slides

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EHWrktcPWK4

Side-by-Side Racing Slides. Mat pick-up at the top.

H - Kanaloa's Whirlpool

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gJ2J4b9nBiU

This slide will make you go in circles over and over again!
The Classic Funnel slide makes it's way to Disney with a Polynesian Flair!

I - Rainbow Falls
http://s970.photobucket.com/user/thekkayc/media/LegendoftheFalls_zps4d0dd976.mp4.html
Discover the Mystery of Rainbow Falls! Dark Raft ride.

See video for ride-through and vehicle description. *Disney's Photopass will be available throughout the day*

J - Tropical Rapids Raft
As your raft rocks up and down, no telling when you'll get back on the ground!
New ride system "rocks" the rafts back and
fourth, trying to balance the guests.

K - Lava Tubes

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ek6lOTR5khc

Shoot down triple speed slides through the volcano's lava.

L - Journey Into Pele's Fire
Journey on a raft expedition through the mysteries of Mount Pelé

M - Lava Bath
Hot Tubs for Teens and Adults.

N - Tropical Storm Slide

Experience the tropical storm of the century as this slide takes you down and around!
The Classic sideways funnel slide takes a new role with lighting and fog like your experiencing a real tropical storm! The outside of the Slide will be themed to a jungle.

O - Lava Bath
Hot Tubs for Adults

P - Loko Wai Pool
Adult Only Pool

The pool will have LED lighting at night to make it feel like an Hidden "Enchanted" Cove.

Dining

Luau Cove

atrc_topimg.jpg

Experience the "Spirit of Aloha, Spirit of Ohana", a Polynesian themed luau show that celebrates the cultures of the islands, and their amazing traditions, featuring the intergalactic adopted Hawaiian, Stitch!

As you feast on your meal, you will be entertained by live performers. Food includes grilled pineapple and our signature Hawaiian roast pork while your family enjoys an educational and entertaining show filled with drama and suspense.

But, don't make the goddess Pele angry, or the volcano may erupt to show her displeasure! (the volcano erupts using a light and water tube effect at the end of the show).

Adventurer's Club

Long lost from Pleasure Island, the popular Adventurers Club has returned! Merriweather Adam Pleasure has heard that the volcano is enchanted, and decided to invite intrepid explorers to join him at the crest of the mountain, and carries on the tradition of a nightly celebration harkening the "New Year".

Audio-Anametronics and decor would mimic (with minor "tiki" changes) the original club. This club is 21+.

Crater's Edge

Merriweather Pleasure has traveled the world, and brought back his favorite and most exotic dishes for you! Located adjacent to the Adventurer's Club, the Lounge is the perfect spot for before or after your nightly celebrations. With a quiet deck overlooking the side of the mountain and the Seven Seas Lagoon, it's also quite romantic!

The menu offers 3 dishes from each of the seven continents. From Europe, there's S-Cargo, or maybe you'd like to try some African Antelope (legally bred for consumption) served on a bed of Mealie Pap. Or, if you are adventurous, try the Antarctic "Penguin Freeze", which is Merriweather's take on a Baked Alaska.

Ukupanipo's (The Shark Shack)

Specializing in fresh quick service, this restaurant is perfect for a mid day snack. Located inside the mountain, it is sheltered, and offers some reprieve from the sun and surf! Menu items include kobe beef burgers (including the shack special, the hawaiian burger with ham, pineapple and a spicy aioli!), chicken tenders (grilled or fried), and other staple treats. Located on level 2, this eatery is convenient for all!

Lona Cove

The Cove offers a viariety of fresh soup and salads, and a 56 item all you can enjoy salad bar, for those seeking something lighter. Located on level 3.

Hi'iaka's Hut

The goddess of the hula wants to share with you! This small restaurant/bar is located on level 1, outside near the wave pool, and specializes in refreshing freshly made smoothies, adult beverages, and a limited menu including tangy pork sliders, chicken wraps, fresh chips (with fresh guacamole or salsa), and fresh fruit salad prepared to order!
Dole Whip popsicles are also available.

Entertainment

Imagine the Announcement voice as upbeat, with a Polynesian accent. Like this:

Imagine the Narrator voice as deep and booming.

6233536_orig.jpg

KEY: DIALOGUE DESCRIPTIVE TEXT

ANNOUNCEMENT: Ladies and gentlemen, kane and wahine, we have for you tonight a special treat! The evening air is full of the mystical sorcery of the Tiki Gods, who have prepared a celebration like nothing you have ever seen before. Please proceed to the viewing areas on the bottom floor near the wave pool, or to the balconies on each floor, for it is time for… Moe’uhane: A Polynesian Spectacular!

Upbeat music begins in the background as the guests make their way to the crater. Suddenly the lights dim, and the music turns darker. The volcano “erupts” with fireworks all around the rim of the crater, and then everything is dark and silent.

NARRATOR: Into the midst of Chaos there was a great void. It was a time of deep darkness, before the memory of mankind.

A single light slowly fades in from about halfway up the crater. It turns out to be a man, suspended from above by a pulley. The man (the god of creation, Kane) slowly spirals downward, landing in the wave pool. He breaks open an orange fruit, and tosses it into the water. The orange color slowly spreads throughout the pool. Fog starts to rise from the water, and gets denser and denser. The background music grows wilder and wilder.

Just as it becomes almost impossible to see through the fog, it clears. Several islands have risen out of the wave pool. On the tallest one, Kane is standing. He has the two halves of the fruit he broke earlier.

Kane throws one half of the fruit to a man on one of the smaller islands. This man is Rangi, the god of the sky. When Rangi catches the fruit, the entire sky lights up with fireworks. Kane then throws the second half of the fruit to a woman on another one of the islands. She is Papa, the goddess of the Earth.

Kane points at the goddess Kanaloa, giving her the sea. Fountains erupt from every direction, lit up blue. Projections of bubbles race up the side of the crater, and more fountains erupt from the top of the volcano.

A mound of rich, red earth ascends from below the ground. Out of the earth rises a man, Red Earth Man. He shoots up the side of the volcano, and lands feet first on a trapeze. Several other trapezes with performers on them swing out of the sides of the volcano, each one aflame. Red Earth Man is swung from one trapeze to another, down and up again, doing several flips in the air each time. He lands on the island in front of Kane.

The water catches fire, but at the same time a hundred fountains go off. Fireworks boom from the skies above, creating a curtain of light over the opening in the volcano. Water shoots from the sides of the crater, meeting the water coming from the fountains in the wave pool. Where the water meets, a dense fog appears. Seven divers jump into the pool from several stories up, each coming from a different direction. More and more divers jump into the pool, and begin swimming around in circles. They jump out of the water and do flips in the air at random times. As the last one hits the pool, fireworks go off above the volcano, making it “erupt”. Laser lights project “Pau’ana”, meaning “The End”, on the water, and the words slowly fade to smoke.

______

Why Mount Pelé could actually be a Disney Water Park...

Think of the vacation packages! The Weekened Polynesian Getaway Package, The Weekend Adventurer's Package, it's just a good fit. :)
