This picture was taken in the cave on Tom Sawyer's Island..maybe this is an effect you can see with the naked eye, or it's meant to come out like this on a photo, but when I did searches about it nothing came up..Can anyone here tell me is this an intentional effect or do I have one weird photo? I also had an odd photo that I took outside HM where the graveyard is..but that one is hard to see..

Maybe it's something new added to the cave. I certainly do not remember a greenish glow.

Unless it's Injun Joe's spirit returning.

I've been trying like crazy to find out if it is meant to do that. I didn't notice anything until I took the picture and looked at the screen on the camera. I didn't notice anything that looked like a face when I looked at it with my own eyes..but I tend to be camera focused when I'm on vacation.

I like that show Ghost Hunters(the guys in it are from my state) so I've been trying to debunk this photo since I've noticed it..I should have taken a bunch of photos in that area and tried to see if it did that for all of them..That would lead me to believe it's an effect that was put there.

I'm sure it's not intentional. This is an example of something called "pareidolia", which is the tendency to see faces in objects (such as the famous "face on Mars"). We are actually programmed by evolution to see faces, which is why people tend to see them in rock formations, clouds, etc. That's all it is. Nothing magical, ghostly or intentional on the part of any imagineers I'm sure.

I emphatically second that. Just a fluke.

What we looking at? The green glow?

Camera CCD chips can be fooled by any UV light and it often comes out green.

Assuming there is UV light there.

On second thought, looking at it again, it looks
like perhaps Gonzo from the muppets is transporting in on the right hand side.

Yeah, and I swear I see a face in my waffles
when I go there.

Weird. Eerie.

Weird, eerie, and delicious:)

To the person who asked what we were looking at..I thought the face was the strange thing. The green glow didn't phase me. I just thought it was an interesting picture. I think it's highly likely that it was an intentional thing ie..being that it's Injun Joe's cave, maybe they tried to make it look like there was a face there. In the center of of the green part, looks like a nose, a mouth with thin lips towards the bottom, and an eye in the upper right side. Kinda surprised that that person couldn't see it..although, remember the Magic Eye books? I could never get those pictures to work right for me..

I have been wondering if and how many ghost stories/legends that there are about Disney. The only one I have heard about is in PotC named George or something. If anyone has anymore info that would be great.

I had heard if you said "I don't believe in you, George" that the ride would malfunction temporarily. I tried this several times during my last trip(sorry, fellow riders) and the ride didn't malfunction..maybe George got laid off due to the economy.:p

First, you have a crap-load of camera shake.

Second, its more than likely one of a couple of things. Ghosting and flare off of the super hot spot on the right of your photo, flaring onto the CCD (as someone said is one possibility but is unlikely in this instance.

Fluorescent lighting is seen by daylight balanced film/cameras as green but thats also very unlikely in this instance.

So our winner goes to Martin, who said its a green light.

Lets see the HM picture that you're wondering about.
