•Moana

•Jack Sparrow

•Tiana & Naveen

My thoughts: “Jollywood Nights wins the Christmas Hard Ticket Event Character lineup for 2025, because they’re all unique and at least they add something new and noteworthy each year, but for its older sibling, how the fridge do they continue to have the same lineup for every MVMCP without having any major additions or losses, come on, they shouldn’t cheap out on this event, the Lilo & Stitch made billions of dollars and so will the new Avatar movie out in December, and yet WDW Entertainment continues to be cheap and lazy with the most popular theme park’s hard ticket event that continues to sell out dates and yet they can’t get their hands on new things, at least Jollywood Nights can get away with anything.

And honestly…, I do not get why Disney refuses to let go of Elena of Avalor from the parks, even though her show has been cancelled for over five years now, hasn’t had a new episode since 2020, hasn’t found any plans for a new movie or spinoff series, why is she still getting frequent theme park appearances when she has no future, I don’t get why Disney continues to underestimate their television animation IPs in the parks including this one

Second off, Jack Sparrow should not be in the lineup, he always has regularly scheduled appearances at the same spot, when is Disney going to know that they can NOT have the same character appearing at both the hard ticket event while also appearing on a regular basis

Moana, I know she’s wildly popular and all, but there’s really no reason for her to still be at those ticketed events when she already has two regular appearances at both Epcot and Animal Kingdom

And don’t get me started on this quote on quote Disney Jr Dance Party at Cosmic Ray’s, it’s the same four characters that appear every since year since 2019, there’s no reason for Timon to still be associated as a DJR character when the Lion Guard was cancelled for six years now and the other DJR characters are no longer appearing at DHS on a daily basis

I hope when Josh D’Amaro becomes Disney CEO next year, some big changes will be made to this roster and one of his first plans that he will do is to permanently phase Elena of Avalor out of the parks for good, if Disney doesn’t announce anything new for the character

Disney has the stats to see who's still watching Elena.

The beauty of streaming is that discontinued series are still available for viewing.

Friends and Seinfeld keep showing up on the top 10 streaming lists.

The series is dead, but the library is alive. And Disney knows how many clicks Elena is getting.

I know it would never happen but I wish they would just abolish the paywall parties and have festive offerings for everyone every night in season. Certainly the admission price is enough that it's not that farfetched. But they realized people would pay $200+ for this event so who could blame them, I guess? It would also eliminate the bad side effects of the parties, like non party nights becoming unbearably crowded and borderline dangerous with the parade/fireworks.

I am curious what the tipping point will be with the parties where people decide it's not worth it. $300? $500? Because at the rate we're going these prices aren't going to be that far in the future.

I'm not saying they are not fun events; they are. Are they $200+ fun? Not so sure. I think the festive offerings could very easily be included in everyday admission. It would spread the crowd out a lot more.

A lot of these offerings wouldn’t be given or even created if not for the parties.

While I completely agree, the reason Jollywood gets those characters is two-fold:

1. Their demographic is young adults who will buy tickets to see rare characters and spend more money on expensive food.

2. The offerings at Jollywood are so slim that they choose the easiest way to eat people’s time by adding those rare characters instead of doing ride overlays.

Depends... Before MVMCP came in 1983, MK already had Christmas Parade, FITS(not 180 or 360 of course) and Sparkling Christmas Spectacular. Granted it was just the last half of December for both Coasts back then.

When MK made MVCMP in 1983, it was just the 1982 Holiday Offerings. The only new thing was FITS 180 or 360. Snoap didn't come till 1994.
As much as I love MVCMP, I wonder how it got so popular...DL hasn't taken that Bait.....

I am surprised the parties continue to sell out, especially this year, with the prices. I still wonder what the ceiling will be for people. I’d love to go to one but the price is really tough to swallow.

Honestly I think what will happen is the prices will continue to go up and once they start to see a decline in ticket sales they will just role out new entertainment to get people to buy tickets again.

People like Christmas and if you promise unique parades and fireworks, people bite. Your guess is as good as mine as to why Disneyland hasn't taken a shot at one. My assumption is more local crowds, but OBB sells out each year. Maybe it's the cultural demographic of Anaheim?
