DAK 'Encanto' and 'Indiana Jones'-themed experiences at Animal Kingdom

I think the reason it's so sad to me is Dinoland/Dinosaur has died such a slow and agonizing death dating back to what, 2022 when they first hinted at it and we knew it was coming?
TBH I feel like 2016 was the last year I didn't have to worry about DINOSAUR/Dinoland, in 2017 there were already rumors floating around that Disney was looking to convert it all into Indiana Jones (which, uh, kinda happened in the end, in a round about way) and by mid-2019, Primeval Whirl was already a dead man walking by switching over to seasonal status (the death knell of any attraction) before ultimately being totally shut down and demolished by the end of 2021, thus setting the stage for the infamous D23 "blue sky" announcements in the following years...

Yup. As soon as Primeval wasn’t replaced I knew we were in trouble.

We’ve seen the site plan. Casita isn’t even attached to the show building. It sits in front of it at an angle, with some space behind it for some perspective-generating trees. The actual size of the facade is about the same as the temple facade for IJ, so yes, there’s likely forced perspective in play despite the structure still being quite large. You enter through the outbuildings to the left which, along with rockwork, mask the actual show building. Standard queue enters to the left, Lightning Lane to the right.
Do you happen to have the site plans saved and can put them on here again. I am curious to see them again after all these new aerials. Sorry, I can't find them and don't know how long ago they were shared.

1. I think Dinoland was a imperfect land and while I think there's parts to love, but as a overall land it was very lacking and personally really excited and love the TA art, this is the project im most excited for. Honestly If AK adds a drone show and even just one more big ride like a lion king in addition to this I feel it would make this park one of the best. Personally also want a skyliner connection
2. I personally think they removed the river because they realized there just wasn't enough room for it. Plus who cares there is still a new fountain coming
3. Does anyone actually know the height of any of these buildings? Because I could see the foundations being support for the roof of the hill facade.

It just didn't really make much sense. It necessitated, like, three extra bridges that you'd really only cross over to get to what is at best a PhotoPass/M&G pad, and I'm a bit unclear on how they would have terminated it in a believable way at either end. Furthermore, it's established that it's outside the Encanto in the film, beyond the mountains the show building is supposed to represent. The Madrigals would also still be sealed away from accessing it at the time the ride revisits.

Has anyone noted how the new story for the Indiana Jones ride is basically the same as Dinosaur, where we're trying to retrieve a grand creature? I wonder if this version will finally deliver on the Pepper's Ghost illusion that was proposed for Dinosaur, to make it seem as if the creature is with us at the end?

Seems like the Alioramus has stopped working entirely, and he's now slouched all the way to the floor. The "Muppet Carno" seems to have some head movement again, but the 2nd one is still strobing. Given this POVs a few days old, have these been fixed or are they just going to die in this shape?

(Full list off the POV)
  • No fog in the time travel room
  • Styracosaurus has very limited motion
  • Ailoramus has no movement and is stuck slouched close to the ground
  • First Carnotaurus seems to have more movement than before, but he’s still missing a lot of his movement.
  • Most of the dinosaurs are still in the dark
  • Strobe lighting on the Second Carnotaurus looks to be burning out
  • Final Carnotaurus is emerging, but there doesn’t seem to be any movement in the animatronic itself.

Might be old news - but the original Indiana jones movies were taken off of Disney+
They cycle things in and out a lot for a variety of reasons, and it’s not just an old versus new thing. For instance, I think the Cinderella remake wasn’t on for a while (and perhaps still might not be?) because they had licensed it out to another network or streamer.

I'm guessing they're probably going to let it die in this shape, the new IJ ride coming here is probably going to replace several of the effects and animatronics in this, so they'll probably keep it like that as they're going to have to either remove it anyways seeing as the ride will close in 95 days from now
