Stumbled onto WDW Pro’s video on YouTube about the massive size of Villian’s Land. They’re peddling that Villian’s Land will encompass the entire northern expansion area around Magic Kingdom, from Big Thunder all the way back to Fantasyland. With multiple ways into the land, by BTMRR, path behind Cars/Haunted Mansion and from Fantasyland. Any insight to this? Is it really going to be that big? They approximated it to be about 12 acres.

They got nothing.

We were told the acreage of Cars/Villains, and it's less than all that.

To get an access from Fantasyland, they'd need to build a bridge over the utilidor entrance and put people too close to the fireworks launch pad. Very, very unlikely to happen.

None of our trusted insiders back any of this up.

Those vlogs are all about clickbait with nothing to back it up. According to their ""insiders,"" Kathleen Kennedy is about to be fired... for the past 10 years.

Their basis for this was all the dark greenery on the new Magic Kingdom maps. I was going to say, that is a massive expansion! They’re definitely not “pixie dusters” over there, that’s for sure.

In general, they're constantly raging against Disney. Maybe mostly for the clicks.

Using the greenery on the map as a sign of expansion is absurdly and sadly hilarious. All the parks are surrounded by that greenery. Does that mean all four parks are going to quadruple in size soon?

Pro and friends have abandoned common sense and logic. It's all guttural emotion.

I believe the rational that they had is that the map on the Disney app was already updated with Cars/Villians, but they were just temporarily "hiding" it with a copy/paste of the foliage pattern used around the perimeter of the map that they could then just "turn off" when the respective lands were set to open. The idea that they would have already updated the map for a land that will not open for 3-5 years is (in my opinion) ridiculous. Whoever was updating the map likely did copy/paste the pattern to hide TSI, but realized that the pattern didnt blend well with the area behind and just went a little crazy pulling it out until it looked "good enough".

I’m not saying WDWPro is right in anyway but I could have sworn the total acreage of the two expansions was 14? I’m sure Cars will be more than 2 acres which would still put Pro off but I just want to see if my memory was correct in thinking they said 14 acres.

I believe they said the size of SWL, which would indeed by 14 acres.

RoA and all the forest up to the train berm is 14 acres. There is no need to go past the tracks to get to 14 acres.

So that would be the two lands together making up the 14 acres? Or each land having 14 acres? If it is 14 acres total space, and about the size of SWGE, these new areas are going to be pretty small...especially considering the coaster-style attractions they are each supposed to contain... Two completely different environments as well... National Parks and then some sort of a dark fantasy landscape...
just for comparison, Toy Story Land is 11 acres...

Toy Story Land is famously terrible at making use of the space it has. Villains Land, even if never expanded beyond its initially planned boundaries, will be decently sized, comparable to many other lands in the Disney portfolio. The issue will be whether or not they opt to use the space efficiently, which is a massive question mark considering the layouts of GE and TSL.

Do we know what year to expect Villains?

2029? 2030?

If Tropical Americas is 2027. Monstropolis is 2028. Cars is 2028. That’s probably when it’ll end up opening.

I’d imagine they’ll redo SSE and JII in that time as well.

Plus, it wouldn’t surprise me if AK gets another ride as well. It’s probably the only park that desperately will need one still if it wants to truly be a full day park into the night.

Disney doesn't *have to* spread out openings like that, tho it might make PR sense to do so.

It was in 2024 that Josh said the D23-announced attractions would be in five years. So, Villains would open, at the latest, in 2029.

Villains is being worked on concurrently with Cars Piston Peaks. Theoretically, they could open together.
