Trip Report 2 broke guys and the 40% off trip (deluxe!)

Yes, yes, I know we just got back. We went in the middle of December, then again for Christmas, then again in the middle of January, and now - our third month in a row…

When: Feb 2-4
Where: All-Star Music, and All-Star Music (you’ll see.)
Who:

Tony

And Brian

Wait, wait - that’s not right. Pretty close, but not right. Let’s try again.

And Brian

OK but those were reject “blooper” pics from our last TR. Here’s one where we’re overdressed:

That’ll do.

And…Mickey.

This security guard

IMG_2503.jpeg

apparently did not get that memo. He sent Brian to the bag check. I was already through when I realized he wasn’t behind me.

I shouted back to him, “why are you in the bag check line?“ He pointed to the above pictured security guard.

We think it was the umbrella, but we don’t know for sure. It took a few minutes, and I was getting annoyed. The hurricane with a dash of tornado should be here any minute, right?

Fortunately, we made it to the Tune-In! That’s two goals completed, and no rain. Woo hoo!

Time to get our drank on.

Believe it or not, the same guy from up north we’ve seen there several times, was there. I asked where was his wife? He said, “I’m enjoying THIS trip.” 🤣😉

We hung out for awhile, but that dry pork was sitting like a rock, and I was getting kind of lethargic. It still hadn’t rained(!) so I decided to see what we could accomplish at HS before it started.

We got in line for M&M’s Runaway Railway, with a goal of either The Little Mermaid, Villains, or both afterwards. It showed a 30 minute wait.

IMG_2505.jpeg

True to form, it was more like 20 minutes. We sat in the ride vehicle with 2 strangers (meh) and then…the entire thing was evacuated. What timing! We did get a LL each. OK.

ok, no Mickey ride - but we made it just in time for Villains. Couple of pics - don’t look if you don’t wanna!

That’s not really showing much - those screens do a lot of work, along with some live action.

It was well done, and the spectacle of it all was cool.

Would we see it again? I guess if there’s nothing else going on. Probably not a big repeat for us, but definitely worth seeing.

The wait for TLM was a bit longer than we’d hoped, and MMRR was still down, so we couldn’t use our LL on it. So we went back to say goodbye to Julie (and do a couple of tequila shots.)

We don’t know those two chicks.

We headed back to the Contemporary to rest a moment, and then get back out there for our 40% off dinner at Coral Reef. 🐠

Guess what? By this point, it’s 7pm - and no rain. All day. Julie mentioned her morning shift was slower than she had seen in a long time. I said that was because the news scared the heck out of everybody!

Yet, lines were still long-ish. 🤷🏻‍♂️

You got a goat bracelet!? Amazing.
One each. We actually wore them to dinner lol. There were some starburst type candies in the bag as well.

And here are some of the goats referenced.

For the first time, I could take that pic from up above vs. on the ground. I am so loving and appreciative of our room.

This is what it looked like before we left.

Would our luck run out?

Server was great. I had a hibiscus cocktail; B abstained.

IMG_2540.jpeg

We split a coconut shrimp appetizer (no pic.) Brian commented they were done “correctly” vs. many restaurants that use sugared coconut.

For dinner, we split a filet (surf & turf) and a snapper dish. We did the old plate switcheroo once we were halfway through. Everything was good. Per usual, not amazing, not California Grill, but no complaints at all. At 40% off, even better.

We looked at the weather app, and app-parently, it was raining right now, and would for the next 20 minutes.

With 20 minutes to kill, when our server asked if we’d like to see the dessert menu, we did.

There was mention on the dessert menu of a no sugar added option. What was it? Pineapple. 🤦🏻‍♂️

However, I did get the bread pudding with ice cream.

That was very nice!

Brian made mention of calling it a night since he has to get up early tomorrow. Just for the heck of it, I checked the wait time for nearby Nemo.

Oops - it was already after 9!

Nope!

I mean, we were late for dinner (still learning to judge monorail transportation) and it drizzled from the Epcot entrance to the restaurant - but we lucked out again with prime view & seating. 😀

First time we got one of the tables facing the aquarium. 👏🏻
I'm pretty sure my sweetie and I once had lunch at that exact same table.
Can’t wait to see Jaws on the big screen in August. The last time was when it first came out, and I was about 5 or so.
I was 12, so I didn't see it until many years later. It a freakin great movie. I think I read the book in high school. Remember when they used to re-release movies??

I did see Saturday Night Fever in the theater with my HS girlfriends, it was the first R rated movie I went to, and I was underage by a year. Google tells me that that math means I saw it in it's 1979 re-release, not the original 1977 run. 🤷‍♀️
Everything was good. Per usual, not amazing, not California Grill, but no complaints at all.
I've never had a bad meal at Coral Reef. I don't get all the hate.

In fact, many years ago we had a dish there for dinner that I have recreated at home, and I make it frequently, it's one of our favorites. Mahi-mahi over couscous with a soy and scallion sauce. Happy to share the recipe. ;)

It’s too bad B has to get up early - MK was open until 11, and he (we) had only been on Three Caballeros so far! 🫤

Back at the room:

I’m not going to bore you with the same pics again, and I didn’t take more than a few. I wanted to just enjoy the show. I moved our chairs together, and we watched. 🥹

Every time I did snap a pic, I realized how much better it all looked when I put the camera down.

Here are a couple.
