I ride the carousel. Make the adults with me do it, too, to embarrass them... which how much fun they're having.

Orbiter at MK has crazy lateral sheer. The arms are too short and too fast for a relaxing ride. That was one and done.
Yep, I have grand kids. No way we are ever going to MK without going on all the spinners. Their only disappointment this past year is the Triceratops spinner at AK was gone, go figure- LOL.

So correct. In Magic Kingdom you have Dumbo, Aladdin Carpet, and Astro Oritor--all the same system in the same Park. So there is supposed to be an issue with the same ride system in 2 different parks, this is laughable. If the attraction is well done, NO ONE will complain!
Agreed.

I posted this in the cars thread... but I didn't realize how big this expansion might be... It can fit Everest, ROTR, and Alien with room to spare...

The "flat ride" part of the rumor has me nervous. I really, really hope it won't be an immersion-breaking flat ride a la Aladdin. Imagine spending billions and then breaking the immersion like that.

What qualifies as a flat ride? Could it be something like Tinkerbell's Busy buggies ride or Heimlichs were kids/families get a slow ride through areas of the land?

Or is it really just a type of spinner ?

Hasn’t Disney confirmed only 2 attractions for Villains Land?

They said it'll be "home to two attractions". Though I'm not sure Disney would say they are confirming anything about the space other than it's a Villains themed land.
"The space will be home to two major attractions, dining, and shopping on an incredibly twisted grand scale."
From Disney Parks Blog

It says nothing about minor attractions or shows. Now how you define a major attraction?
Is 7D a major attraction? Is mermaid? is Pooh Bear? Is Tiki Room?

I’ve said it once, I’ll say it again: the ride lineup should be on the scale of Fantasy Springs. Give us multiple dark rides. One mega E ticket a la Frozen. And supplemental rides of scale like Tinker Bell & Tangled.

This IP deserves a whole host of experiences.

Hot take: but a coaster is lazy.

Busy Buggies and even Heimlich's are bus bar rides (though Heimlich's was so small that it might've been close). My understanding is "flat ride" generally involves vehicles attached to / moving around a central mechanism (spinners, Mad Tea Party, Alien Swirling Saucers, pendulum swing rides, carousels...) or an open floor space (Luigi's). It seems Disney is leaning into those in many locations, which could seriously damage immersion in otherwise-transportive lands.
