i do wonder if with the lights popping up and even with the ugly screws r STILL popping, i wonder if this is enough for disney to try to push out yet another new hub for epcot. i dont think it will but i can dream
I think they’ll do something. How much effort they put into it will be the issue. The contractor promised a more durable fix and delivered something that quickly fell into disrepair again. The question is whether they give them yet another long window to manufacture something “better” or just switch gears entirely.

Only to back down and build something as bland as Communicore Hall which functionally is not that different from what they already tore down. The light-up logo in the concrete that cannot function after a basic Florida rainstorm plus the fact that this area took 5 years to construct. Sterile as he may be, I don't think Iger is stupid. Anyone with two functioning brain cells could see that this was a massive waste of time, money and resources for the company.
Say, who was in charge of WDW and then the Parks when all those changes were first approved and then reformulated to what we have now?

Wait, what we have now was the fix?

I think someone in the know previously stated that the original installation did not exhibit the durability originally promised, so the re-installation around Festival of the Holidays was a different, supposedly more durable solution (easily observed just by looking at the different material finish). That has also obviously not worked out, so the question is whether they allow this vendor to continue trying or switch gears.

I understand the sentiment but any sane businessperson would look at how they tore down Communicore West to try to replace it with a structure that would have been physically impossible to build. There was nothing physically impossible about the DS+R building. The whole purpose of building it was that it was an expensive showpiece.
