Interesting. Perhaps the law of diminishing returns in terms of dinosaurs?I've seen it in a preview, it fell flat for my theater, no one left with smiles or talking about it after. ScarJo is good as always, but the rest just didn't hit.
Which part? ScarJo or the rest?Im trying to take you seriously…I really am![]()
Yes, notice how each of those 3 got less each time.Interesting. Perhaps the law of diminishing returns in terms of dinosaurs?
Then again there is this:

The Top 3 are within the last 10 years. Curious times ahead.
Why would an autistic child deter people from seeing the movie?I haven't seen Elio yet, and I don't want to spoil it by going into the specific thread, but I can see a few issues:
1) Lilo and Stitch are in theaters also. Unless you plan to see both, Stitch wins.
2) The name is nondescript. This is like John Carter (which I liked a lot). The title sounds like it's about frozen pizza.
3) Isn't the film about an autistic child? That may not be appealing to general audiences, or hit too close to home.
We will see what happens…. But the reactions from the screen unseen previews are not good…. In fact a few gave the impression that the film is awful…. But audiences had turn out for garbage over quality before so who knowsDinosaurs usually do well, The JP movie seems the "safest" out of the three.
An autistic Accountant didn't stop people from seeing that movie. Why would an autistic child deter people from seeing the movie?
I just posted a reply to Wil…. Every reaction I have seen is not good… and these are people who should be excited for seeing the film early… I don’t have high hopes for thisI've seen it in an early preview, it fell flat for my theater, no one left with smiles or talking about it after. ScarJo is good as always, but the rest just didn't hit.
Well she’s been nominated for an Oscar, so take that as you will.Scarjo…
Just not much there
That Netflix thing with Adam driver?Well she’s been nominated for an Oscar, so take that as you will.

To each their own…I suppose
At first I thought you typed Adam Sandler and my mind immediately went to happy Gilmore LOLThat Netflix thing with Adam driver?

Fantastic 4 just strikes me as something that is way bigger for the comic book community than the public at large. Most didn't grow up watching F4 cartoons or playing with the action figures etc. It could do great, but I won't be shocked if it doesn't do nearly as well as a lot thought (remember there was a lot of talk that F4 and X-Men were the two franchises Marvel still had to lead the next phases).Fantastic Four is the one I'm the most curious about in terms of results. I suspect same for a lot of folks. Its got a lot going for it and everyone is in (near) universal acclaim in regards to the the retro look, the fact it has H.E.R.B.I.E in it, etc.
That said there are some headwinds and Marvel needs it to be a success. Add to this FF hasn't lived up to expectations at the box office previously. I must be an odd man out as I enjoyed both previous attempts aside from the inter-space cloud of Galactus. The first one was uneven but better than the second which just seemed "off" the whole movie.
Slightly further ahead?
Superman? I have no idea.
Dinosaurs usually do well, The JP movie seems the "safest" out of the three.
Either way its a possibility that there isn't going to be enough $$$ from the movie going public to go around for all three. Sure there might be some that will go see all of them, but is that the majority of people?
Either way in a week or so roughly we're going to find out.

Superman I have NO idea. I honestly think it looks bad, though I'll admit I've always hated Superman, and I don't think much of Gunn either. But that has name power, so maybe people show up in force for it?
And last, I'd agree with your take JP is probably the safest of the 3.
I knew I should have gone to screen unseen. I figured it’s usually little art house stuff rather than blockbusters. We will see what happens….
