MK Cars-Themed Attractions at Magic Kingdom

I don’t know. The water was pretty but weren’t the attractions underutilized? We visit often and I can’t remember the last time we even considered going on either of them.
Probably. Though I do think Disney can be faulted for some of that. They’ve removed water activities over the years, never use the restaurant, and offered short hours on both the boat and island. I commented before (actually to you, I think) about some things I think they could have done to improve utilization. Instead, they let cut them back and then throw up their hands.

They don’t open the restaurant because not enough people go to the island to justify its operation. They offer short hours because not enough guests use either of these attractions to justify longer hours.

What? Apparently still you.

It makes zero sense to separate this development. Two attractions are closing so that 4 new ones can be built.
Naw. There have been multiple reports that there were ways to add these things without sacrificing the river and TSI. Instead they chose to destroy and replace.

Villains is an addition; Cars is a replacement.

It’s not word play. You’re just not being honest with yourself.

Two attractions are being destroyed. They are being destroyed so they can be replaced by 4 attractions. 4 Attractions that will have higher capacities and far higher utilization and popularity. It will also include Significant increases in walkable areas as well as multiple additional new food/beverage and merchandise locations. That is an expansion.
Villains is an expansion. Cars is not.

Exactly. They are deliberately cherry picking what to include.
You are also furiously cherry-picking and moving goalposts.

Counting TSI as “one attraction” is a stretch, especially since you are counting what will likely be a much smaller children’s play area in the Cars replacement as a single attraction as well.

SWL in Disneyland was an expansion. Villains will be as well.

lol. “Reports” from armchair imagineers don’t count. It’s easy to say what can be done and what is feasible when you don’t have to know anything about reality.

They choose to destroy and replace them because they take up a massive amount of land and were themselves massively underutilized. The land can be much better utilized as a massive expansion of the park with multiple new attractions and other guest facilities.

Both Villains and Cars will be going on to the former site of the River and Island. It makes zero sense to call one an addition and one a replacement.

They don’t open the restaurant to save money. They offer shortened hours to save money.

Don’t pretend Disney doesn’t have significant control over guest flow. We’re all more sophisticated then that.

It wasn’t feasible! There’s a sinkhole!

Hey, I can think of some underutilized space - Animation Courtyard. Stitch. A substantial number of Magic Kingdom dining locations. Wonders of Life. Massive expansion plots all across the resort, a resort with the blessing of size.

Don’t give us this “underutilized space” garbage.

How about from actual Imagineers like @Eddie Sotto ?

He posted a way to keep everything!

RoA is being demo'd unnecessarily. End of story. They didn't have to do it. Why can't people just admit that?
That too. I was actually just thinking of what some of the "insiders" here and elsewhere have stated about different ideas Disney had for this that did not involve destruction. I could have missed it, but I don't recall any saying that this was the only way to get Villains.

Clearly you didn’t read everything he posted.

He posted ideas. That doesn’t mean they are feasible based on reality. He said that himself.

Nobody said they have to remove the RoA. But there are reasons why they are.

I always assumed that you need people to actual serve to have a restaurant open.

Aunt Polly's operating hours speaks for TSI visitors.

Animation courtyard, Wonders of Life, and all of those massive expansion plots across the resort do nothing to help Magic Kingdom’s capacity.
