I could probably go kicking through the old threads to find it, but some insiders were saying IPs were being "fought" over by the parks.
Moana also had potential to go in Adventureland (behind pirates).

MK Cars-Themed Attractions at Magic Kingdom

No, my understanding is Coco would not work in the ROA space. The original concept for coco was indeed “beyond” big thunder.
I’m guessing Encanto was going to connect the coco area to the Villians area in the “beyond” concept.

Disagree. Zootopia at Animal Kingdom would be worse.
Losing the Rivers of America is bad, and I'm not in favor, but it won't be as detrimental to the Magic Kingdom as a whole as a big Zootopia area at Animal Kingdom would be to that park.

Yeah I don’t follow the logic. I’m assuming Zootopia land would be in a corner of the park and/or that they’d be sure to sort of hide it from the rest of the park like GE at DL. If so, Zootopia would only harm the thematic consistency of the park but technically you could avoid it. Not sure how that is worse than losing the beautiful ROA and design intent of an entire quadrant of Disneys main park at their flagship resort. That’s been there since 1971 I might add and has a lot of emotional attachment from a lot of fans. Losing the ROA at MK pi$$es off a whole lot more people than adding Zootopia at AK. Even just on a basic psychological level. You’re gaining something in one scenario that’s not even replacing really anything of value (except maybe Dinosaur) and losing something cherished in another.

DAK is one of the most charming, well themed parks in the US. MK is seen as a discount DL. I think DAK is more sacred as its unique.

I get that part and I understand the desire to keep the most thematically pure park at WDW as pristine as possible but in practice losing the ROA is more damaging then adding a Zooptopia land. One problem is mostly in our mind. The other is changing the way you experience the park.

Do not say what you like about WDW or the MK, just be direct and say you do not want the Rivers Of America to go away.

Zootopia, as proposed, ran counter to the message of Animal Kingdom in its entirety, and the area it would have inhabited lacked any consistency or cohesion as a land. There was no organizing principle to it at all.
Cars in Frontierland perhaps runs counter to the land (arguments to the contrary are pretty flimsy, as was also the case with Tiana), but it's not a completely uncharacteristic attraction for the Magic Kingdom. It also likely damages the organizing principle for the land, but it does not eradicate organization in its entirety like Zootopia would have, inasmuch as it would have unmade the entire fabric of a fifth of the park.

Zootopia is way closer to the original “message” of DAK than a Dino carnival or Avatar land. Or for that matter Indiana jones And Encanto.

I want to ask, is Beyond Big Thunder Mountain "dead" or did it get absorbed by Villains Land/On hold? Because if BBTM is still happening, then I would be very surprised if it looks anything like the blue-sky concept art we saw seeing as the Encanto attraction is now going to AK.

I have to disagree with this. Dinoland and Pandora were made to work because the lands that organize them were smartly conceptualized to do so. I won't pretend I liked most of Dinoland, but they used the broader storytelling within it to align everything with the park's unifying message. We don't know for sure if that will be the case with IJ and Encanto, but there is at least hope with Pueblo Esperanza tying things together.
Zootopia, on the other hand, was just a completely disconnected ride oriented a bit behind and to the side of an equally disconnected pair of Moana rides. It also would have likely re-used the Dinosaur ride system, which makes me think it would have focused on content similar to the ride in Shanghai.

Zootopia would destroy the entire thematic integrity of Animal Kingdom, which is probably the best theme park on the planet from just a theme perspective.
The Magic Kingdom has always been a hodgepodge by design. It will be a serious loss to the Frontierland/Liberty Square area, but it won't really affect the rest of the park. A Zootopia area at Animal Kingdom would be a massive hit to the park as a whole.

Zootopia is almost completely opposed to the original "message" of DAK. It's one of the worst possible IPs you could put in that park.
I'm not sure why you think you understand the message of the park better than its principal designer, either. Dinoland was absolutely a great fit for Animal Kingdom, even if it didn't work well overall.
I don't think IJ or Encanto are great fits either, but there's potential to make them work. Zootopia would never work well at AK without making fundamental changes to the underlying IP.

As far as we know, the Indiana Jones attraction will have a "mythical creature" in the temple, the carousel has animals for various Disney and Pixar movies, and Encanto has Antonio, who can talk to animals in the film, so that's their connection to animals to AK.

Again in one scenario the issue is not only mostly in our mind but the land can be avoided. The other scenario you lose an integral and cherished part of the park.
