Have you heard where in MK?

I think I found people on Twitter who would be OK with it near Tomorrowland.

However, I have noticed that people here think the whole place looks like downtown, and don't realize that there is a rainforest district of folks in treehouses, and literally buildings that look like trees, a district of rivers and canals, a district in the desert, etc. That is, a Zootopia in the west of the park could work visually.

Zootopia was told by a source to me to be BBTM. I got told that a few months ago though, so if Cars and/or Villains is supposedly last minute.... maybe it was kicked around? The land is prime real-estate, wouldn't be shocked if they were thinking to bringing a plethora of IPs over before they settled on Cars and Villains.

Of course, there is always the question of exactly where BBTM is.

I think I found someone who determined that Cars would, from the location of BTM on the concept art, would be around TSI, or hopefully to the north. Villians, I'm guessing, is just NW of Fantasyland.

The area W/NW of BTM might still be in play.

$60 million will barely pay for all the research trips to Capitol Hill needed to make Villains Land as authentic as possible.

Nah just had to do research in a particular area in South FL, won't approach $60M.

I think the loss of ambiance would forever change the feel of MK, it would take away much of the charm of that side of the park.

I’d be ok with losing the Tom Sawyer aspects, a smaller island, even losing the riverboat but can’t imagine that side of the park without the water. If they need a more direct access to the new areas just lose the boat and make a couple permanent bridges, you could even toss a couple rides on the island while you’re at it to better utilize the space.

I think they'll either change the LB to a smaller loop or moor her permanently and leave the RoA just at that section of Liberty square and along edge of Frontierland to TBA

Do we have any information at all on Villains Land schedule? D'Amaro said "earth is already being moved" which is obviously not true, they don't even have the permits yet. I saw somewhere classed it as "Construction Beginning Soon". I can't imagine we get Villains before like 2028/2029 but maybe I'm wrong.

Earth could be being moved if they are working on bringing in dirt from outside the parks to fill RoA

I am sure there are 20+ different pieces concept art for BBTM including Zootopia, and Toy Story, and Coco, and probably Frozen and many others

I was thinking how they recently patented a ride system that could be used for that attraction.

That signals to me that the concept is still very much blue sky. Highly unlikely they canceled or axed it considering Moana’s popularity.

Just wasn’t ready to be showcased this time around.

That’s what I’m hoping at least.

I'm thinking that Moana is still the plan BUT they need stuff to announce for next D23 too and this year is very much about things that they have to get started with right now. They knew this year was important but saying they were adding 5 rides to Magic Kingdom over the next few years in 1 go would have definitely been too much and guaranteed that MK would barely be mentioned for the next 2 D23's. Possibly most of WDW with that level of investment.

That doesn't sell. Sorry to say, it's not the general public who wants that stuff. Is a family going to choose Disney over Universal for "Rhine River Cruise". No. Even if its one of the most elaborate rides. Is Little Suzie going to ask her parents for $100 of Rhine River Merch? No. Put Tangled there and... well now you have a possible yes for both of those.

No. Even if it’s one of the most elaborate rides. Is Little Suzie going to ask her parents for $100 of Rhine River Merch? No. Put Tangled there and... well now you have a possible yes for both of those.

That’s a great example of one of the biggest changes in how P&R now works. They used to build things we didn’t know we wanted and we fell in love with them. Now they only build things they think we want.

Wall Street would rather that $60B be spent on buy-backs and dividends, you know, on themselves.

I know Zootopia gets mentioned a lot for WDW, but having been to the land, it really doesn’t translate well for our parks.
It’s built, specifically, for the picture taking culture of China.

It was a cool land but would not have nearly the positive reaction here.

Buybacks do help execs ( not just Disney ) earn more in that stock options ( an huge part of the exec annual compensation ) are more and when they cash in it is substantial.

After considering what didn't get announced that was rumored, my thoughts have shifted somewhat about where some things should go.

For AK, nix the clone of Paris' Lion King and instead revive the left half of the original blue sky art as an Oceania miniland. Do the Moana flume and move TriceraTop Spin over, converting it to the proposed kakamora spinner.

For MK, subsequently ignore Moana in favor of setting sights on Tomorrowland next. It needs a massive amount of help since many things within (Monsters, Buzz, Speedway) will be redundant in short order.

For EPCOT, find a way to make something for Coco work with Mexico. Yes, I know there are challenges, but with it now not showing at either MK or AK, it feels appropriate to put it on the table once more. This can be way down the road, though. There are obviously far more pressing issues at EPCOT.

Love the Oceania land revival at DAK. While I firmly believe that DAK needs a Lion King attraction, Moana would work great in DAK. Don't get me wrong, Moana would work great in Adventure Land as well but they already have a flume and focus needs to be on the expansions there.

As for Tomorrowland, agree. reimagine that space and add another unique and original attraction. Convert Speedway to either a kid Tron attraction with electric cars or even better, candy racers from Wreck it Ralph.

Not sure the Mexico Pavilion has the scope to bring Coco to life as it should be. I'm all for a Coco attraction though just think it needs to be bigger and Mexico really doesn't have the space. Maybe build a new Mexico Pavilion with Coco attraction and convert the existing one to another country. What they should consider is Tangled addition to the Germany Pavilion. World Showcase sure needs the people eaters.
