Direct reservations will go away for most - day tickets will instead be date and park based at purchase. APs will potentially stay reserved initially. Hopping permission will gradually become more lenient for most too. Assuming new old Bob doesn’t alter things.
How about AP’s that have a Resort Reservation-will they still have to reserve?

Major overhaul of Disney Park Pass reservations and Park Hopping coming to Walt Disney World in the new year

please, Please, PLEASE......let these changes take affect before my trip starting Jan 26!!! I really despise both the park reservations and the hopping after 2pm.

This was already a planned change correct? And not brought about by the return of The Savior of Disney(tm)

I take it you just didn't read the article at all?

So if the new model shifts "capacity" restrictions to ticket sales and not park pass, then for example if the MK is "full" for single park tickets, the alternative is to pay more for a park hopper and you can then get in?

This seems like a backdoor price hike for peak times. It would give them every incentive to keep single park ticket inventory very low.

Park reservations will stay, but will automatically made at ticket purchase

Isn’t it funny how the “experts” said reservations would NEVER go away!? Haha.
It's incredible how little data they think Disney has available to them. They know what crowds are going to be like to an alarming level of precision based on ticket sales, resort occupancy, historical trends, and various other inputs. They never needed Park Pass to "predict crowd levels" so they could "optimize labor." They were already predicting crowd levels and optimizing labor.
