Having stayed at Sequoia, Newport Bay, Santa Fe, and Cheyenne, Sequoia is by far my favourite resort at DLP.
I've only stayed in the Lodge buildings, but I think I would always pick one of those rooms for the reasons @marni1971 mentioned: they are so peaceful and the landscape so transportive. Even just the smell of the sequoias immediately takes you away from France to the Sierra Nevada! A lovely way to start and end every day.
After staying at Sequoia, I was a little unimpressed by Newport Bay even though it had just been refreshed when I stayed. I liked both Santa Fe and Cheyenne, though Cheyenne would definitely be my second choice out of all the hotels I've stayed at.
