Dedicated 2 bedroom vs Lock off

Any resort CMs here? We are staying at bay lake in August and our reservation specifically states 2 bedroom villa. We DO NOT want a lockoff. I’m assuming the room type would say 2 bedroom lockoff if it was a lockoff right? I want to get ahead of it and change the room if there’s a chance we could get a lockoff?

Not a CM, but a DVC Member. A 2-bedroom lock-off is a separate booking category and the room type will specifically say "Lock-Off". AFAIK, lock-offs are only available when booking through DVC.

Cash guests can't book a lock-off, but they can request one. If a 2 bedroom is booked with cash and no request is made, it'll be a Dedicated.

For the Non DVC group, could you please explain what a Lock-Off is? Would that be an adjoining room situation?
It's a Studio and a 1 Bedroom Villa glued together. You would have two entrances to the hallway, and an open door between the living room and the second bedroom.

It varies by resort, but the main layout difference is that a Lock-off would have a Queen bed and a Queen pull-out or Murphy bed in the second bedroom, while a Dedicated would have two Queen beds. The lock-off would also have a kitchenette in the second bedroom, while a Dedicated would not.
