To those that thought he was a domestic abuser, yes. But now he is on the stand testifying about his heavy drug and alcohol abuse.

It's great he's not a wife beater, but not the squeaky clean image Disney wants. He's never coming back for a company like Disney.

I wouldn’t say never. James Gunn still works for Disney.

Robert Downey Jr literally went to jail for his notorious drug issues and he got to play Iron Man, plus made many other projects such as Sherlock Holmes.

If Disney/Hollywood black listed every person who was accused or admitted to having a drug or alcohol problem we’d never have another movie or tv show made again.

I mean hasn't Depp also stated he won't work with Disney again even if they asked to have him back? I would imagine he feels like he got stung and thrown out once the accusations were made without the evidence / due process and wouldn't want to work with a company who basically disowned him without even trying to talk with him to address the situation and hear his side of the story. But as others have said it would be very tough for Disney to just never work with actors who have had drug or alcohol problems, they are rampant in Hollywood / with celebrities in general. Sure Disney has lots of clean celebrities as far as we know but it's impossible to expect every single person Disney works with to have a squeaky clean reputation. People are people and will make mistakes / do things that they shouldn't, but as long as they aren't actively hurting anybody / harassing people / etc. and they are talented and fit the role why wouldn't Disney try to get them on the project?

I wouldn’t want to work for Disney either if I were him.

I love Depp, but I hope to God they don’t make any more Pirates films. They truly went downhill after At World’s End, not that that one was terrific. That franchise is on the heels of 20-years-old. Let it be and let it go, please.

I agree wholeheartedly, I got tired of the franchise after At World's End as well as the quality got bad but it was also just getting drawn out, there are so many stories to tell before it just feels repetitive and detached from the original that made it so special. Disney sure knows how to milk a franchise til it's tired and dead. I hope this newest movie without Depp will flop hard enough they finally stop making movies and let the franchise rest. It was a cool concept to make a pirate movie loosely based on the ride and it overstayed it's welcome, let it end and let people remember how good the originals were and don't dilute the franchise and tarnish it with terrible sequel after sequel.

I am so glad that Pirates has been closed during this whole thing, if I can be perfectly honest.

I am also tired of the Pirates movies and then we need to move on culturally from it, like this ish is TIRED.

He's still an accused wife beater and admits to abusive behavior. I wouldn't go as far to say he's "not a wife beater," just that he hasn't been proven to be a wife beater.

I wonder if they are going to make the walkway in front of the former platforms all Fan!! viewing area and use the enlarged rear area as walkway with two-way traffic. Potentially those free-standing lamposts could be anchoring ropes and stanchions. I'll take a look when I'm in the parks on Wednesday. I'll also try and find any CMs I might still know (it's been so many years now).

I wouldn't say "a couple." The entire rest of the internet is completely inundated with "trial" everything. The stan culture is absolutely unhinged. And, look, I am not on anyone's "team" or "side" with this (because that's absolutely ridiculous), but the absence of any kind of reality here is not... like it's definitely more pervasive than I think people realize.

There are definitely some unhinged people out there but I think a lot of them like to destroy for fun. Sad thing is media listens to them since they are so hard up for a story.
