Yeti Missing from EE Today?

Someone probably just forgot to flip the switch on the strobe light.

I made an account just so I could respond to this.. I was at Animal Kingdom yesterday and rode EE twice and never saw the yeti. Kinda disappointing too, I haven't been to Animal Kingdom since 2004 so this was my first time experiencing the ride!

Sorry - did not mean to start the whole "EE and the Yeti needs to be refurbed" discussion. We all know that will get us nowhere. I was just questioning whether or not the Yeti has actually been taken out of service.
So someone can't ask if part of a ride is missing without the thread police showing up? The OP asked a very valid question. He wasn't started another thread on the ongoing Yeti saga (although that one occasional rears its ugly head).

Or maybe the damn thing finally fell over late one night, it's been removed and we can all stop stressing (and complaining) about the Yeti.....

I was under the impression the Yeti could not be removed due to being welded on to the mountain structure itself or something, could be wrong.
However I have ridden Everest many times and have never seen him, he goes by so quick that I'm not sure that it's even worth all the fuss.

I just rode EE and the yeti is still there. My husband said the strobe lights looked different. I saw no difference.

Just a fan-created legend to justify the figure not being fixed. The yeti was installed after the mountain was built, the access door is visible on the back side and the figure even has been removed in the past.

I rode on Thursday and thought the same think when I saw his room was dark -- hopped back on through Single Rider and used my phone's light to see if he was still there. After a moment of being sure he wasn't there the light just happened to catch his claws and his eyes at the last moment and reveal that indeed he was there in the dark, waiting . . .
I was lucky enough to ride several times back when he was working, but that was by far the scariest ride ever for me on Everest! I felt like I was gonna have a genuine heart attack that ride when he suddenly appeared from the black. Scary as HECK.
PS: I was in the last row with several empty rows in front of me (load had gotten messed up, I was surprised they sent us out so empty) and was judicious with my phone light. No guest experiences were harmed in the making of my stroke.
