Can somebody please explain to me what's the business reason for UO to raise its one-day ticket price. $1 is not going to raise much cash for the bad press. What? Does it want to advertise "Tied for the most expensive theme park in America!"
Disney and Universal both think that having the highest ticket price is some sort of sign to potential customers of having the highest quality. They're both completely and utterly delusional. This only signifies that we'll be paying more for the same damn product.
I wouldn't be surprised if Disney goes to $90 out of misguided spite.
Oh please. They raised the one day prices at the gate by a dollar. If you're buying your tickets at the gate you're an unprepared day tripper and the parks (Uni and Disney) want to get your every penny.
Honestly, people are ridiculous about this stuff.

The price increase isn't the issue. The issue is, the raised prices 2 weeks ago, and did it again.
So?
No seriously. So what? They raised the price at the gate by a dollar to match Disney. It's literally nothing. You can find a dollar walking along the street. It's their prerogative. It's not sleazy. They believe their product is, and will continue to be, as much quality as Disney and they want their price to reflect that.
Good for them. It's not going to stop me from going.
Not really, when you sell 14 million tickets...that's 14 million dollars of PURE profit.Perception of value is as important as actual value. Universal wants to be compared to Disney in every way now. That's evident with the price shenanigans. I hope they back it up and try to deliver a superior product than Disney. That being said the raising by a dollar is stupid.

Also if Disney raised prices first and Universal went a $ higher, then Disney would match. Again this has been the common practace for MANY years
Please cite a specific example of this. Date/year.
