Continuing my marathon, I'm now on S1E12 of Voyager...and I got to thinking...

Who is your favorite First Officer (Number One) of all the series and why?

Who is your LEAST favorite First Officer (Number One) of all the series and why?

(Note, for this I include those considered "second in command" in the series, and not necessarily the next highest ranking STARFLEET officer)

Chakotay is my Least Favorite. Again, not the actor, but I felt his character was just poorly developed and written.

I'm with ya. Spock, because, it's Spock! Riker is a close second, with the beard.

Least favorite for me would be Kira. The chip on her shoulder was to big and too constant for my taste. Her smile was always a little creepy to me too. But that's just me.

Kira got better in the later seasons, but the first few seasons of DS9 she was just terrible, I agree.

Though, I still think she ended up as a better character than they ever did with Chakotay.

I...don't like the post movie Spock (Nimoy) who appeared in TNG, nor the new Spock (though I think the actor did well)...

I REALLY didn't like that Spock (Nimoy) was in the new movie either. If you reboot, just reboot. I realize it was fan service, but it just mangled the story, imho. I also wish they hadn't used the Romulans as the protagonists again after they had JUST done that in Nemesis.

I think Blalock as T'Pol did a GREAT job. Though, of course, they played up her sexuality for ratings a bit too often (though, they also had Trip as well run around quite a bit in his underwear)

...but overall she played a well balanced character, I thought. Bit weepy towards the end, but she did well (I also just finished an Enterprise marathon a few days ago, so it's fresh in my mind...)

I really don't like Chakotay (as I noted)...

Riker is my favorite. He is almost as awesome as Captain Picard. According to Q (when he appeared the first time in Voyager) if it hadn't been for Commander Riker, the Federation would have been assimilated by the Borg. So...

I agree with what others have said about Kira. She was hard to take the first few seasons. Eventually I came around to liking her character. But it took several seasons.

I like Chacotay, but he didn't really stand out as much as Riker and Spock did. I liked other Voyager characters better.

From Captains to First Officers, I'm digging these threads.

Ok my choices are Quinto Spock for my favourite. I didn't think anyone could replace Nimoy, but Quinto nailed it. Plus Sheldon liked him, and if it goes down well with Dr. Cooper then its good enough for me.

Least favourite, sorry everyone but its Riker. The way he walked around with his beardy head cocked to the side bugged me, then his twin/clone/brother turned up and added to my annoyance. I guess he's too smug faced for my liking.

Oh shout out to Kira too, she was kinda scary.

Haha, before I read your last sentence, I was thinking, "Well, Sheldon thought Zachary Quito was a weird, wonderful surprise..." and then you said it. :joyfull:
