White wall vs plexiglass verandah

Hi,

I have currently got a deluxe room with verandah booked with the white wall balcony. I just read that this gives you an obstructed view is that right?

Is it worth upgrading to the plexiglass balcony? Does anyone know what kind of price increase that would incur?

Thank you!

Its a matter of preference. With the whitewall you won't be able to see as much when sitting on your verandah. I've had a partial whitewall and it wasn't a big deal. I do prefer the full plexi, tho. Cost difference will vary. It just depends on how much is sold in the categories above yours. Call & ask. It may not be that much. Then you can decide if its worth it to you to move up.

solid walls verandahs usually tend to curve around the ship.. giving a bigger viewing angle in some cases.
and In some of the older ships.. certain rooms have HUGE verandahs for their price.

We've had both a whitewall and plexi glass. Honestly I didn't even notice the difference

In this picture below, you can't really see the whole wall, but you can see the top of it and it stops just around the knees. So it's not really an obstruction (I don't think, anyway)

Also in this photo you can see the rooms towards the back on the left of the portholes don't have as much plexiglass since they're the whitewall verandahs. The rooms to the right offer the full plexi-glass.

The white walls on the Magic and Wonder are much higher than the Dream and Fantasy! On the Dream and Fantasy (like in @derelicte19 's picture above) they're barely noticeable. On the Magic and Wonder they cover just about everything under the rail. FYI. :)

We really enjoyed the plexiglass. We could sit down and eat breakfast and be able to see everything. It's not a huge deal though that I would pay an extra couple hundred for. Mainly you'll probably be standing up and looking over and down at the water. Verandahs themselves rock!

I sat on our veranda a lot and I loved the full plexiglass! I could sit relax and still see everything. We will also pay the extra cost to have a veranda with no whitewall.

Thanks everyone. I am very tempted to upgrade but I think I will stick with the room I have. I keep adding bits on to this vacation and I'm not sure where I think I'm getting the money from!

you can always google around, perhaps you can change to one of the same category with solid wall but with an oversized verandah.
some of these rooms are also accessible ( in the wonder.. unsure if the magic still retains the same placement)
like the rooms 8100-8600,8102-8602, 7136-7636, 6154-6654.
