What's going on this week?

Anybody know if there's a particular reason Disney is so crowded this week? First, we hear that there are no rooms available at any Disney hotel. Then, they close 2 of the parks due to the crowds.

Isn't spring vacation still like 2 weeks away?

The parks usually get INSANELY busy around Easter.

Nope, many spring breaks, ours for example, are now! Someone said in another thread that this week is second only to Christmas and New years in crowds.

Spring break is at different times for different schools. Last week was spring break for my son and we drove to Louisiana to visit the relatives. On the drive back as soon as we hit I-75, there were tons of mini vans, all with their dvd players going for the kids in back. A couple had "Disney or Bust" painted on the windows. All these vans, from Michigan, Wisconsin, etc. were all exiting near Disney.
