Ok...a few quick cake updates since I'm hoping to avoid work until Monday morning.

First off...I have put in my cake order I was originally planning on having a cake delivered to my meal at Narcoosee's. It's no secret that I'm not a fan of working with the GF, but I figured I'd give it a try. I called last week, but nearly a week went by before I heard back. I told myself that I'd change my plans to the Contemporary bakery for our Cali Grill meal if I didn't get anywhere with the GF. So, the GF called me later that day while I was in the bathroom at work and left me a msg. I told myself that I'd go with the GF if they answered when I called back...but I'd go with the Contemporary if I got their voicemail. I got their voicemail...so Contemporary it is! I emailed the Contemporary that same evening and had my first email from Chef Brian by 6:30a the next day. LOVE HIM! We went back and forth for a couple of days, but we finalized things yesterday and I put in my order with their cake line today.

I'm going to let the cake be a surprise to all...but a few little things.
1. It won't be Donald and Stitch because they can't put together characters that don't appear in cartoons together.
2. It won't be steampunk...because it just doesn't fit with my revamped theme.
3. The topper should be awesome!
4. The cost is kind of crazy. When I started to place my order...the guy asked if it was a 2-tier...since the price would suggest it. I said no. Then he asked if it was a 10" and I said no...it's just an 8". But I've got my trust in Chef Brian and I'm hoping it will be spectacular!

OK, so now for other people's cakes...



This was $60 and made by the Contemporary.

This is a wedding cake from the GF...



So, not much of an update...but just wanted to log in and touch base. I'll be so happy when things calm down at work!

This was done by the BW Bakery. Not sure of the cost, but I know they messed up the cake flavor.

Not sure which bakery did this one...

it tasted pretty good. It was just a standard yellow cake with vanilla butter cream. I will say that the fondant was really good, and actually edibile LOL. Some fondants are too sweet to eat.

Hey guys I'm currently at WDW!!!!!! Yes, posting live from inside the magic bubble! I'm ridiculously full and tired right now. I'm sitting here in my room in the Poly with my swollen feet propped up. I know - I know...it's a rough life... being tired at WDW and all. I will scour the webs for more cake pics when I get home, but for now...I wanted to share pictures of MY CAKE! Oh my gosh, Chef Brian really did it this time I'm so happy with the final result.

I normally take more and better pics, but I forgot to load my memory card into my DSLR before dinner. So, I was left with my phone. I guess at least I had a full battery on my phone!

The cake is a chocolate cake with Bailey's Mousse filling. It was really good and boy did it get a TON of attention when it was brought to the table. We even had mgmt. level CMs want to come and meet the couple who ordered this crazy cake. I think it may have something to do with the saying I had them add to it. It is kind of "different." As you may recall, I wanted to combine our fave characters...Donald and Stitch, but couldn't do so since they don't appear together in cartoons. Well, the cute and fluffy line is for DH and Stitch and the quacking line is for me and Donald. So, it works.

I don't normally post my cake pics until I post it in my TR, but I'm changing it up this time! And like I said, I'll post more about other stuff when we get back Back to my vacay!

I think there are a couple in the thread...somewhere. I am currently at WDW and won't be able to dig through right now to find them, but I can probably track them down for you by this weekend if you want to wait.

Not sure what size cake your looking to get or how customized but if you google Disney world chip and dale cake there are some really cute screen prints and Disney will put images on the cakes for you if their art department approves it(that takes 15-30 days) also I saw one on page 1 or 2 of this thread posted by HouCuseChickie!

Ok...back from our WDW vacay but I wanted to post an update for all you cake lovers...

@disneydeb I think this cake is for you!!!

AKL bakery...$80




AKL bakery...quote was $40, but I think the actual cost was $23

Not a cake, but a nice example of "painted" versions of many of the white chocolate toppers...

Delivered to San Angel...not sure on cost.

The next is a wedding cake...but it's from Disneyland's bakery.

And finally...as you probably already gathered, I'm kind of a cake freak. So, I was at the Grand Floridian the other day and just happened to be there when the girl was walking over the cake for the Perfectly Princess Tea. So, naturally...I followed her. Hey, normal people can follow cake too! I would love to post a picture of it, but it's going to have to wait. Why? Well, I took close to 4,000 pictures and it's somewhere in all of them. It's not a great pic...but I'll post it once I can find it.

Finally- Chip and Dale!

They also offer 3D white chocolate Chip and Dale toppers/statuettes. They are separate, so you'd have to order both if you want both "munks." There are no 3D 7 Dwarf toppers...but as you can see...there are 2D stand up edible image options for them and Chip and Dale.
