Figured we need to have our very own election on this historical day. I took the liberty of hand-selecting at random, 3 qualified candidates...1 of which will be declared winner once polls close tonight. Here are your candidates:

Sam The Eagle
A true patriot among patriots. Honest, headstrong, & articulate. Very hard working and a compelling figure to his adoring public. His main weakness is that he comes across too serious & tight collared sometimes. But he will be a noble leader through thick & thin nonetheless. Possible running mates include: Kermit, Miss Piggy, or the Swedish Chef.

Darth Vader
Has a vast history of leadership experience. He can get things accomplished simply by raising his hand (and using the Force to choke anyone who questions him). His main weakness is the fact he has committed murder on many occasions, and any project he has been part of has somehow been blown to pieces by the rebel alliance. Possible running mates include: Emperor Palpatine, Darth Maul, or Stormtrooper #3,548.

A Spoon
Just a random spoon I found in a kitchen drawer. Has years of experience in aiding citizens with the enjoyment of a balanced & nutritious breakfast. Main weakness is the fact it's just a spoon, and likewise incapable of making any sort of leadership decisions. Possible running mates include: A fork, a knife, or a spatula.

NOW is the time to make your voice heard. Please place your vote for the candidate of your choice. Tonight the polls will close and the winner who receives the most votes will be elected president of...whatever the hell this election is supposed to be for. Whether eagle Muppet, Sith Lord, or random kitchen utensil...it is YOU, my fellow citizens, who will decide what happens next. Place your vote, and explain in the comments below why you chose which candidate. You are allowed to flame others for their decision, but just not mine, because my viewpoint is the correct viewpoint. Now go make your voices heard...Sam, Darth, and Spoon are counting on you!

CNN Reports:
"As Sam the Eagle gets a slight lead in the polls, Darth Vader begins last minute campaign stops in: Tatooine, Coruscant, and Naboo.
Elsewhere, the Spoon continues to just lay in a drawer doing nothing."

Well, if only Darth would've considered Storm Trooper #3,549 for his running mate, he would've had me. So down to the spoon and Sam. Same is patriotic, but not sure if he'll be able to work with other countries well. The spoon may lead us to an all-soup diet, however. Tough choice, leaning towards Sam at this point.

The spoon has lost me. Just heard about the spoon's stance on finger food. Not good. Vader has regained my interest with his hard-working campaigning. Not enough to get my vote, though. Sam the Eagle it is!

News reports stating that Sam the Eagle told Vader, " You didn't build that" when discussing national security, specifically the Death Star. Vader responded with heavy breathing.....

Rumor has it that Storm Trooper #3,549 had some sort of scandal hit the presses involving one of the Sand People, making him ineligible to be Darth's running mate. He does, however, still pledge his support to Darth's campaign.

Election Update:
"HHN now reports that Sam The Eagle is being accused by team Vader as being some kind of political "puppet", and operating under the control of special interest groups. In response, Sam has sent one of his VP running mate candidates, Miss Piggy, to Darth's campaign headquarters. Miss Piggy gave Darth's campaign manager a swift "Hiiiiiya!" chop to the noggin.
In other election news, Spoon still remains in a drawer."

This is getting close, folks.

Why was the crowd laughing? I found the speech very patriotic :confused:? Anyone, this is Vader's brain new commercial.

After seeing this ad, I am leaning more & more to a Vader vote for this election. Still time to change my mind though, but he does look promising. Well played, Darth, well played.

Election Update:
"The Spoon campaign has yet to release any kind of political ad or speech up to this point. Quite possibly because spoons are incapable of going to such measures.

Rasmussen Reports tracking poll shows Sam the Eagle with a 1 vote lead (6) over Darth Vader (5). Over 500 Ewoks have pledged their support to Sam out of pure vengeance toward Darth & the empire killing one of their cousins during the battle of Endor. Team Vader feels confident this will not hurt his chances, as Ewoks are not allowed to vote in the States"
