Hi all,

My wife and I are looking at going to Vero Beach July 26-29 and wanted to see how are the crowds that time of year. Also is that turtle hatching season?????

Thanks.

Nesting is generally June-August and hatching (60 days later or so) is August- October. Be aware that the nests are pretty much, and rightfully so, off-limits and will limit free reign beach access somewhat. If you are adventurous you can rent a bike, go a little bit north and visit some of the other beaches where there's other nests too. They are staked out and marked. The bike rides around there are wonderful...

We were there at that time last year. It's not crowded except in mid afternoon at the pool. Otherwise it was great. Yes, turtle hatching time, but you don't get a real up close encounter. Our kids did a turtle educational session through the resort but they don't have much for the adults to do in that regard.
