Is anyone upset about being limited to 3 fastpasses a day like I am? I am used to using the fastpasses all day and using at least 6 a day! And you can only choose 1 out of the tier 1 category! During busy season it is just not enough for one day! If you are you need to write to Disney and let them know. (guest.mail@wdw.disneyonline.com)This is part of what they replied to me...

Disney will always listen to what our guests want and if there is great enough demand for increasing the amount of Disney's FASTPASS+® selections per day then we will seriously look into raising the limit. There are more guests than just yourself that have mentioned your displeasure with the amount selections you are given, and we will look at the system to make sure we do what is best for our guests.

That is interesting. I can't wait to see what its like when we go end of May/ first week of June. We also always have a FP ready to go and can easily use more than 6 in a day...esp at MK.

Interesting yet "honest" reply. I put "honest" in quotes because I feel like this is a templated response that GS is giving now to soften the blow. It will be interesting to see how they do increase FP+ numbers but if this occurs, I think it will increase by resort level or paying extra for more. In either situation - this will be additional money that I have never had to pay to get a legacy FP.

Thanks for sharing the email Disneygirl. I sent a similar email regarding my displeasure with the limits. As a pass holder and Florida resident I don't appreciate being held back and not being able to do things at my own pace with all the extra planning.

That's a very atypical response from the Disney company. The information given is surprising. It is written so very poorly, too.

    Very unlike Disney.

Whether or not the GS response was typical or even genuine, I think it's a false attempt to make the guest feel valued when WDW has no intention or ability to do anything about the problem. I don't see how Disney could possibly raise the FP+ limit (except perhaps to 4 for Magic Kingdom) or eliminate the tiers in HS and Epcot. The "test" is currently seeing FP+ for the top headliners (the attractions for which FP+ is actually necessary - e.g., TSMM) "selling out" and unavailable for day-of guests, and it doesn't even include all of the AP holders yet and isn't a peak crowd season -- and it's only going to get worse as WDW continues to build new hotel rooms, but not new attractions. WDW simply lacks the FP+ capacity to increase the per-day FP+ allotment. Of course, they could always increase the number of FP+ given out for each attraction or start enabling every last attraction for FP+, but this would bog down the standby lines to the point where I think guests would be complaining about that even more vociferously than the 3-per-day FP+ limit.

I hate the FP+ limit as much as anyone else, but until WDW mans up and adds another half-dozen headliners to the parks, I think it's here to stay.

What I would like to see is a compromise in the system. You can book three fast passes ahead time and than book addition fast passes in the park as you use the ones you have. You can always have three fast passes booked at any time during the one day. Additional fast passes would not have to be in the same park.

You nailed it. There isn't enough ride capacity to increase the number of FP reservations (especially outside MK).

FP+ is the socialism of the FP system. In the past the educated minority (that's most of us:)) often used more than their fair share of FP while others used few or none. I read somewhere here that the average guest used something like 2 FPs a day. Under the new system you are forced to reserve 3 but they added new rides so the usage is probably pretty similar, just spread out amongst the masses.

They started experimenting with bonus FP reservations a little during testing. I didn't experience it, but from what I read they gave you a bonus reservation day of which you could either keep or go in and change to anything available.

MK was offering 4 (still does, I believe). However, you could only choose 3 and you'd get a "bonus reservation" on MDE that Disney chose the ride and time for you. Mine was for Pirates.

Yep, thats what I was referring to. It was still just the basic 3 in November when I used it. Could you change the bonus reservation or did you have to keep it?

Didn't try to change it day of, because I was happy with how it worked into my schedule for the day. So, I'm not sure. Wish I had tried. I know I couldn't change it prior to day of through MDE (I did try that).

However, this was the first week of August.

We didn't get a bonus FP when we were at MK two weeks ago. We were staying on property and have APs, not sure if that mattered or not.

MK does not offer a bonus 4th anymore. That was only in August. I have booked FP+ in October, December, February, March and April (yesterday) and have only received 3. Yes, the 4 we had last August was nice especially since we could also get paper fastpasses.

Thanks for the email address. I'll be sure to drop them a line today. We go to the World every other Christmas for a week or so. There is no way that 3 FPs are enough for that time of year.

....were there in Aug/Sept too ....had the 4 FP's at MK ....but never used all 4. It really wasn't that crowded ...and most of all ...I hate running around a park like a lab-rat in a maze.

....had I realized that I could "double-dip" (I was clueless) .....I may have for some of our fav's ...but as I said ...it wasn't all that crowded.

Don't these 2 statements contradict each other? How is going to the machine pulling out a paper ticket and then waiting for the return time better than going on your phone or to a kiosk and reserving a specific time? To me the old system was a lot more running around the park like a lab rat. One of the true benefits to FP+ is that you don't have to make 2 trips to the same ride to use it.

....not concerned with the 'distance' between the old FP machines ...etc. I was referring to having a "path" laid out ...based on scheduled FP "appointments". I completely loathe scheduled vacations .....or even parts of vacations.

I agree. I much preferred WDW before any FP or ADRs.

I guess what I was trying to say is this, if you were in the park and you used old fast pass you would have to walk to Space Mountain and pull a ticket that told you to come back between 1pm and 2pm. Maybe that worked or maybe you planned to be back at the resort in the pool or at lunch at that time. With the new system instead of getting the assigned return time I have some flexibility. If I planned to leave the park in the afternoon I could pick a return time between 4pm and 5pm instead. Either way I have a scheduled 1 hour return time. With the new system at least there is some flexibility assuming there are times available.

I hate to be that person but that "email response" seems fabricated. I have never, ever, ever, seen an email communication from Disney phrased or written that way.
