Now, I want your Humble Opinion,

After reading the orlando weekly article entitled "up and down attractions" do you think that the article has any truth behind it?

OK, heres my take on the article.

1. "Mickey's Philharmagic"
I had this rumor on WDWMAGIC back in 18 May 2001.

So my opinion is that Jim Hill is very good at repackaging news/rumors from other sites, and blending them into a nice article all of his own. Because he writes for large publications, people tend to believe what he says to be absolute fact, when infact they are very much rumor. Oh and you can always rely on Jim to insert some of his patented Disney bashing and negative slant onto any news item.

As you can tell I am a real fan of his work! NOT!

Jim Hill

Sorry, but I don't like Jim Hill's negatives comments on Disney - he gets on my nerves. Instead of providing factual information on Disney, he always has to add his two cents in and take stabs at Disney. I don't care what he thinks. As a journalist he should not add his own opinions in articles and instead should remain neutral to the subject matter in which he is writing upon.

I heard that he applied to be a costumed character as a teenager, and was rejected. Since then he has dedicated his life to bashing the Mouse at every opportunity.

Well I havent got the slightest clue who he is! I just saw the article and thought you would all be interested.........I guess not. In the future I wont post any Jim Hill articles.....

You are absolutely right, and the fact that he editorializes and slants his work that way calls his entire integrity as a journalist into question.

In my experience reporting, people don't like reporters who work this way because he lets his bias cloud his work in general--he is more interested in the angle than the truth. I new a beat hockey writer like this--would follow players to bars and take notes on the women they were with and what they did, try to trick them into saying they were womanizing.... they would get even. He'd stand outside the door the locker room trying to eavesdrop, the guys would signal each other silently that he was there, and then they'd begin discussing outrageous, false things to watch him print them.

Perhaps raiding sites like Steve's is the only place some reporters can get information anymore, because when you tick off your sources, at a certain point, they aren't your sources anymore.
