Pre-Trip The "We are finally riding Dumbo 1st birthday extravaganza" pre-trip report

Hi Everyone!

I can't believe its already time to plan this trip! It was not quite a year ago that we were heading to Disney for our gender reveal! And now, our little nugget is 8 months old!

Who are the Characters this trip? Me, my DH and my DS!

Here's the plan!

Sunday May 31st -
Fly in to MCO. DME to WL
We are going to hang out at the resort this day. We made dinner reservations at Whispering Canyon. Normally, not my favorite but its really the only TS option for 1 credit. We might change this later and do a QS instead and use the TS credit elsewhere. We are looking forward to spending time at the resort. Maybe do the water pageant, movie, s'mores? Can't wait to see what kind of activities they have going on at the WL!

Monday June 1st -
Magic Kingdom
After I melt down into a total mushy pile of tears and happiness, we will spend the day at MK.
11:30 a.m. - 1st Hair Cut at Harmony Barber Shop
At some point this day - we will meet Mickey Mouse and ride Dumbo. My DH and I have never ridden Dumbo together. On our honeymoon to Walt Disney World in 1995, my DH and I decided to wait and ride Dumbo when we had a baby. We never thought it would be 10 years later!
We will head back to the resort to rest via the ferry.
Lunch - where ever the day takes us
Dinner - Crystal Palace

Tuesday June 2nd -

Animal Kingdom
We will spend most of the day here, not leaving to take break but rather, end early and spend the evening at the resort.
Lunch - QS at Yak and Yeti
Dinner - QS probably at WL

Wednesday June 3rd -

Epcot
Lunch - Rose and Crown
Dinner - Via Napoli

Thursday June 4th -

1st Birthday!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Magic Kingdom
It has EMH so we will get there early and then head to Chef Mickey for a very special birthday!
Lunch - Chef Mickey
We are having a smash cake at Chef Mickey to celebrate!!!
Back to the resort to rest and then back to MK.
Dinner - probably a QS or this is where we will swap the TS from Whispering Canyon.

Friday June 5th -

Last day!
Magic Kingdom until its time to head back to MCO via DME.

Oh my goodness I remember reading your story not that long ago and now he's 8 months (and adorable!)!!! I can't wait to see all your pictures from the trip and the plans sound great!!! I honestly loved your gender reveal and I still talk about it when people talk about gender reveal parties :)

Friend! This is wonderful. So happy your little boy is finally here and so happy you're planning his first trip. I think WL is the perfect place to stay for his first trip and it sounds like you have exciting things planned.
Have a wonderful trip and can't wait to read about it.

So nice to see you and planning your baby's 1st already. We brought my granddaughter for her 1st trip in November and we had a ball. She was 20 months old and she absolutely love loved loved it. Enjoy this trip....it is really for you and the memories you will make with Colin. I am sure that in the years to come, he will love looking at the photos. This trip was also very special because my granddaughter had a big surprise for us....she is going to be a "Big Sister" in May. The news just made the trip all the more special! Can't wait for this little guys (we have since learned that it is a boy) first trip to the Most Magical Place on Earth! :cat:

Congratulations!! That is so exciting!! I love that you found out at Disney! YEAH! Yes, this trip is mostly for us, but I hope he likes looking back on it. And we will for sure have more trips for him later. But this one, its going to be mama's most magical trip yet!

Ahhhh, thank you so much!!!! I can't believe it either! It seems like just yesterday! Actually, its just about a year ago we were there finding out "its a boy!" We made sure to add the memory maker b/c there are going to be ALOT of pics! Haha! :)

That term is marvelous! Not only just a word, but the meaning of being back in The World in the (near) future :) And you future is nearer than ours, but then again we have the prefeelings much longer :) I know what you mean, a lot of people say you better go to Disney from the age of 5 or so.... but for the parents.... to do to Disney with their kiddo it's a trip of a life time, but when the kid is getting older the trips will also be of a life time :) A lot of first during the future trips :) Old enough for this ride, old enough for that ride :) LOL!

Love seeing someone else calling one of their kiddos "nugget." :) So many firsts in his trip!!! Looks like he'll also have his first trip to R&C with you guys. I know it's not smash cake, but he could have his first taste of Sticky Toffee Pudding!

And with regard to him not really understanding...it doesn't really matter as long as he's happy and enjoying himself. I got so much grief with taking my younger one just after she turned 2. I got the choruses of "she won't remember it" and "as long as you realize you're just doing this for you." Last time I checked, happiness and enjoyment know no age :)

Can't wait to see this all unfold!

I can't wait!! To go with the prefeelings my DH laughs at me bc I say preplanning which the essence of planning is really pre so why pre planning? hee hee But I totally get it and I love prefeelings! I can't wait for all of our firsts!

Do you call the kiddos nugget? I love it! He's a bit smaller to average size and he just a little nugget! :) We had to take him to R & C. That's where we named him! :) I agree! There is no age on happiness! :)

I just stumbled upon your pre-trip report.. and OH MY GOODNESS, he is the cutest thing ever. I am so excited for your trip! I cannot wait to see your pictures! Take lots on Dumbo! I'm so happy for you and your son is going to look back on this trip with so much love.

Ahhh! Thank you so much!! That is so sweet! There will have to be several goes at Dumbo I think - I'm sure the first ride I will be doing the Oprah ugly cry! Oh my! :) I tear up just thinking about it!!! Our gender reveal trip report is in my signature if you want to see that trip. :) Loads of pics! And some from him as a new born Mickey :)
