Ivory Tower Squabble EST 2011. WINDMILL SURVIVOR
rice made with plastics and silicone, it looks exactly like rice, just less transparent. but becomes like gum (squishy) when cooked.
Very toxic and prompted recalls everywhere.
There was an alert in my country because some companies were actually COMBINING the real rice with the fake one.

I'm thinking there is a real special place for the humans that pull crud like this on their last day of life........

Purpose I wonder though? Rice is a cheap commodity.

It is disturbing when little ones spout such things. But, I was recently reminded, that they are usually just repeating what they have learned at home.
That's the disturbing thing to me. He can't have come up with this on his own, and there is a boy in my son's class with the same opinions and I've heard his mother talk, so I know that's where it comes from. They are very negative about foreigners. Well...I shouldn't say foreigners...they don't have a problem with ME that I know of, but I am white and not Muslim. I went to pick up DS for physical Therapy a couple of years ago and went into the locker room and this boy was pointing at a darker-skinned kid and shouting "Turk! Turk!!" and the kid wasn't even Turkish. The teacher wasn't in the room, so I told the boy to stop and that it didn't matter whether he was Turkish or not, we don't say things like that. He looked at me and went back to pointing and shouting and most of the class joined in. I was telling them to stop when the teacher came in and asked what was going on. She didn't seem NEARLY as appalled or angry as I was. I HOPE she addressed it with the class when I left, but I doubt it. It just makes my blood boil to see ANYONE being treated like that, whatever the "reason".

I also got a dog (as a companion) because when I came home from Iraq I was really depressed and lonely and felt like nobody needed me. She helped my outlook on life exponentially. She's annoying most of the time, but I love her so much :hilarious: Dogs have such an amazing impact on our lives!

She's been with me for 7 years now :inlove::inlove:. Here she is on her birthday with her two sisters (she's the furry one without a hat):

Awww....she's beautiful! My uncle always had beagles if I remember correctly. Though my mom did tell me the first one was a jack russell terrier. The doctor said sometimes caring for another living being was enough distraction that it lessened the flashbacks or something? And some dogs sense those things and can offer comfort and snap you out of it. It must have worked because he ALWAYS had a dog. Of course, I didn't know about the PTSD until I was an adult. but again...the dog must have helped...I never noticed anything. Kind of weird though...he was so sweet and gentle and such a natural caregiver, and his wife was a nervous wreck who couldn't deal with the kids or dog or housework. My uncle had to basically do EVERYTHING. And this was in a time when women did not have careers, so he worked, and did all the housework, etc. He's the one who went through the horrifying experience, being shot in a war, etc...and SHE was the nervous wreck. You can't say that everyone who has PTSD is "messed up" or that they have violent tendencies because of it. It's just not true.

The latest in the saga that is my car...

AC went up. $750 repair. :bored: At least I'm not paying it. And at least with my parents and grandmother still being gone, there are three other cars I can drive.

Our little car is also at the mechanic. This will be a costly repair--unless they can't figure it out. They had to bring in their electrical specialist. I don't have a good feeling about this.

It's issues with the computer parts, that can only be serviced by a Chevy dealer. It's complicated. Most other types of repairs hubs does himself (background in car mechanics), but there are just certain things he can't do, due to passwords, etc. that only the dealers have. It's just really discouraging.
I had the computer module go out on my Explorer. It was no longer available through the dealer. I was lucky to find one on Ebay and had the dealer install and program it. I lucked out with only $300 for all of it. I hope you luck out too!

chicken stripes.. at a movie theater? what kind of heresy is this? o_O

I never seen a theater offering anything beyond hotdogs or nachos over here lol.
Unless it was a VIP theater and charges like an upscale restaurant.

Yea, besides all the theaters around here that now serve you lunch, dinner, and alcohol, many of the regular theaters also have a lot more choices than just popcorn and candy. :)

I wonder, how expensive was to do that in Epcot?

We initially looked into wedding packages at WDW for oldest DDs wedding in April of '14, and even the more "modest" ones were waaayyyyy pricey and wouldn't have accommodated the number of guests they wanted to invite. Plus all the travel, etc.
They ended up getting married here at a local outdoor venue, and having their reception in a tent on site. The venue, the ceremony, the tent, and the reception were all absolutely beautiful.
They then did a WDW and DCL honeymoon...! :)
