Guess I should check my weather report. I saw yesterday we are supposed to have some storms move through, but I don't know the particulars of this one. Hopefully, not another monsoon.

Stay safe!
We are south central PA and saw there is a line of storms west of us headed in a north east direction. I will be home by 12:30 so hopefully they will hold off until then.

Poor DS is having a rough time. My dad died not quite 3 months ago, then Friday his chess teacher collapsed, and today my FIL ended up in the hospital with a brain aneurysm. He's ok, and I told the kids that BEFORE I told them what he had, but DS is taking it really really hard. He's scared he's going to lose Opa now, too. He's had stomach aches every night since Friday when the teacher collapsed, and I think it's stress related. So now he's completely frazzled and not doing well. I don't know what to do to help him.

It is so hard to see your kids go through this. Maybe he can make some get well cards to help cheer up the patients?

Oh no. DS doesn't do creative stuff. His idea of coloring is to have me print off a coloring page and then hand it to his sister. It's not his thing. We are going to try to have Opa call him tonight to talk to him if he's up to it. He was feeling better this afternoon and can walk and talk. There's no lingering paralysis, so that's good....if he feels ok, he can talk to DS and maybe it will help DS to realize he really is going to be ok.

For those wondering about the price of the carriage stroller, it's $300 for the day.

I think they're cute but I cannot imagine getting that thing through a crowd without chewing up other people's ankles. And I'd be worried someone would steal it from the stroller parking and I'd have to pay for the whole thing.

And for $300 I'd want a footman to be included to push my little snowflake princess around all day so I wouldn't have to.
For that price, I bet they have a GPS locator hidden somewhere.

He claims to not like mojitos because of the lime, but a couple weeks ago a friend recommended a drink to him that hubs just had to have. It was soda water, white rum and lime. And hubs liked it, i pointed out the similarities and he said that he still doesn't like those. Just like he claims to. It like guacamole but will he avacado mash, or claims not to like mayonnaise but if it is called aioli he will smother his food with it. My hubs is so strange.
Sympathy like. My dh refused to try veggie burgers until we were someplace and I ordered one for him while he took the boys to wash their hands, long story short he eats them now:inlove::D:angelic:

Yeah, there is so much more I could do with $300 than rent a Cindy stroller.

It was amazing! You need to make the cauliflower for sure. They were on sale at the supermarket when I went Saturday and now I am sad I did not get more. :( I kind of winged the crabless cakes but can tell you the ingredients with some measurements.
4 or 5 yukon gold potatoes shredded, 4 carrots shredded, half a large onion or diced, fresh chopped parsley. Squeeze out the water from the potatoes and combine all the first ingredients. In food processor put in one can of white cannelini beans, lemon juice, dijon, old bay seasoning, a cup of breadcrumbs( I had homemade and they needed to get used, but you can use oat flour or garbanzo bean flour I am sure), a tablespoon potato starch, tsp of baking powder. Puree all that and then mix it in with the potato, carrot, and onion. Make a flax egg mixture(2 Tbl flax seed with 6 Tbl water) and mix that in. It will be doughy. Drop in heaping scoops onto parchment on a cookie sheet. I made 16. I cooked in the oven at 415 and flipped once after 20 minutes. I think I let them go another 10.
I make mine a bit differently. I use chick peas, no potato and add some vegan mayo and ground up nori. I'm going to make the cauliflower tonight I got some while I was out:hungry::joyfull:

Yeah, I am the useful relative now. Other than the girls' father, who my grandmother wants nothing to do with (and for good reason) I'm her only adult grandchild living up here. My cousins all live in SC. And other than my parents, she really has no children up here either. My aunt is in SC, my other aunt, who I've never even met and has been estranged for a while, lives in West Virginia, and my uncle went off the rails about a year ago and no one has spoken to him since. Not much you can do when someone doesn't answer your phone calls.

My aunt still has custody for now. The agreement expires, so she'll have to get a new one, but it seems unlikely their mother will be able to get custody back at this point. She's got so many charges pending against her, and we don't think she'll be able to afford a lawyer. The girls do have to come up for summer visitation, so they'll fly up with my grandmother. The good thing is that my aunt can get a gate pass to escort all of them to the gate, and then I can get a gate pass to get them off of the plane. I get them one day and my parents the next. I'll be spending a lot of time at the airport, and barely going anywhere.

My mom called me on Friday after they got there. They went to get the DAS for my brother and sent my dad on a FP run at the same time. The thing is, you need the passes to get the DAS, and my dad had them for getting FPs. Which they did not think about. Before she could even finish telling me, I said, "Yeah, that wasn't going to work!" She told me they needed me there keeping them straight.:hilarious: And then of course, with my dad and his stance on cell phones, he forgot his in the room and they lost each other for a while. Which, if I had been there, I would have stayed with my dad so that one of us had a phone. Oh, good times.
See it's just like you're there with them:hilarious: Have a safe commute home and I hope the storms miss you today, or at least the worst of them.
