...because, why not?

1/31/13:
- touch screens in queue before design station still glitchy
- custom vehicles still not uploading to ride screens correctly
- no music on "hill climb"
- no lasers or fog in first eco-test room
- "barrier doors" held open.
- no onboard audio for high speed outdoor section (not an error, but it's something to watch for to see if they ever add something)
- every "drive your custom vehicle" game in the post-show was roped off.

With the techy problems, I'd just say it is more getting the system used to it
In this case, the consensus seems to be that the ride wasn't ready for the December 6th grand opening but was turned over anyway. So they've had two months now... are we stuck with the reason behind this entire makeover - designing and "testing" your custom car, not even working right? The concept is flimsy and what you are doing is vague at best - and it doesn't even work.

Haha, well, to be fair, most of that is stuff that has yet to have worked. The attraction, in it's current state, is unfinished.

Good Thread! I guess I am missing the to be fair part though. They took her down Mid April and was to be Finished in September, then quietly moved to late November and Opened in December. I don't feel we need to be fair about commenting about all the current broken or non-functioning elements Disney didn't get around to finishing during the rehab

Concept seems to have been lost.

Well surprise, surprise. More non-functional show elements in WDW attractions. Some of them due to opening the attraction in an incomplete form, others from either breaking or being switched off in less than two months of reopening. I'll just leave this here to sum up my thoughts on the matter-

That's true. Even though it was already delayed, I can understand wanting it open for the big press event on December 6th, as well as the Christmas crowds. But the crazy crowds are gone. If shutting it down is required to finish it, then do it!

I'm contemplating starting another thread for Tower of Terror, because my most recent experience there was laughably bad.

Ride this twice tonight during EMH and some/most of these were working. Hill climb music, lasers were working (didn't see fog, aerodynamic test thing worked), Barrier doors working. Vehicles were not uploading during ride, drive custom vehicle was working, but not all stations only about half of them. The commercial thing and photo stations were working fine. Touch screens in queue still glitchy, the design station next to us crashed to a windows error as the people were designing their car.

I say go for it. I don't ride Tower of Terror all that much. Not because I don't like it (I love it in fact), but I dislike the feeling of falling most of the time (let alone being pulled down at faster than gravity). But I do make it a practice to force myself to ride because it truly is a great ride. Last rode it in 2011 and even then had the feeling a lot was missing in the 5th dimension scene. Can't really put a finger on it due to only having ridden it twice prior (a long time ago as well), but the scene felt emptier and lesser somehow.

Which is a shame because again it's an awesome ride when working 100% and truly relies on all of its show elements in working condition to be completely effective. Even despite my fear of the drop, I force myself to ride it because it's a really awesome ride (and one of those special attractions WDW can boast being original and best version of).

Good to hear, it seems like some of the things I noticed in the first post may have been a fluke. Regarding the lasers and fog - the room is supposed to be foggy so you can actually see a laser beam that "scans" your car as opposed to just seeing it projected on the ground.
