Telemarketer phone call after checkin

Maybe it was coincidence but not 10 minutes after checking into POP today and upon entering our room I get a call on my cell phone from 404-519-9133. The call started out with "can you here me?" My reply of "yes" must have triggered the automatic recording telling me how I could get a weeks worth of stay and tickets if I were to buy some premium package. While the recording never came out and said who the company was, I was just taken back by the timming. Once I heard" purchase premium package" I hung up. Anyone else experience this?

Nope...And if the area code is from Atlanta I'm pretty sure It wasn't from WDTC...

Definitely not Disney, but that's crazy insane! Was it pure coincidence, or is someone harvesting data illegally from phones or Disney's system?

Man... so annoying.... unbelievable....they even track you down at Disney???? Youre supposed to be stress free at Disney. No connections to lifes frustrations once you step on property.

I get more telemarketers calls than anything else both at home and at work. Even with the do not call lists they still make it through. Now they attack you at your resort????? Glad I have call screening so at least I can avoid answering certain numbers I recognize.

Im sure not swearting or stressing this, its just the timing of it all was just so perfect! Plus, I never get marketing calls on my cell, ever, which made it that much more odd.

There is a very good chance that an app on your phone is relaying your GPS location to someone who is "geo-target marketing" based on your location. Several of the "free" game apps do such nice things. Most apps (android and IOS) don't allow the GPS data to query and relay your phone number so it is most likely an app that you installed and approved this behavior for some legitimate (to you) purpose.

I would maybe notify Disney, they need to look into it if it is a common issue, either someone might be harvesting their DB or an employee might be making money on the side..... or it was just coincidence lol
