Star Wars Land announced for Disney's Hollywood Studios

I was wonder why these weren't making the rounds? Pretty cool stuff. I wonder if the first two are related to a ride give that the floor/street look very similar.

They did, but in articles where only one picture is shown, the aerial view of the entire land was most often used.

The second one, with the stormtroopers, was on the screen when they were talking about the ride that "puts you in the middle of a climactic battle between the First Order and the Resistance.”

Glad they are breaking ground in 2016. Maybe it will be done by 2019 when I visit Disney World.

If Season of the Force has already been confirmed in primarily happening in the Echo Lake area (a possible short film in Sounds Dangerous, updated Jedi Training Academy, etc.) and construction on Star Wars Land will be occurring during this same time period, would it be possible to reason that Star Wars Land will expand into the parking lot or behind Star Tours beyond Studio Drive?

great article - at least there is a starting point in 2016. Toy Story Land 2017, maybe Pandora 2018 and Star Wars in 2019?????

With the plethora of dates flying around, it appears that Disney is scrambling. I would like to think they are scrambling to beat the competition. Unfortunately, I think they are scrambling because they are unsure of how to successfully pull this off without killing the park before it's reborn.

Construction will start on Star Wars lands at both Disney's Hollywood Studios in Orlando and Disneyland in Anaheim, Calif., next year.
The groundbreaking dates were announced by Walt Disney Co. Chief Operating Officer Tom Staggs at an investors conference Thursday.
No opening date was given.
"This will be I think perhaps the most immersive land we've ever built," Staggs said of the upcoming project. "We want people to feel like they've stepped into the world of Star Wars and so that's really sparked our imaginations and it's got people fired up."
Disney announced last month that it will build a 14-acre Star Wars land and an 11-acre Toy Story area at Disney's Hollywood Studios — the largest overhaul ever within an existing Walt Disney World theme park. Experts say they expect it to take several years before Disney's Hollywood Studios' complicated and costly new expansion becomes reality. No price tag has been provided, although costs for expansion on both coasts is expected to be in the billions.
Disney's plans are expected to remake Hollywood Studios from what many tourists consider an afterthought into a major destination unto itself. Star Wars in particular is considered Disney's way to strike back at Universal Orlando's wildly successful Harry Potter lands. Disney will give Hollywood Studios a new name but has not revealed it yet.

I hope not IMHO, If its fast tracked that mean we might lose out on minor details, or something major like a restaurant or a ride.
