The Wizard of Oz. First written and published in 1900 by L. Frank Baum, the series is regarded as one of the largest and most popular fantasy series of all time. Since then, the books have gained a cult following; namingly with MGM's 1939 musical adaptation of the first book written and directed by Victor Fleming. Being around for more than a century, it's a suprise that there's not a large theme park or resort that captures the marvelous land of Oz and its inhabitants.

That doesn't count.

In 1996 came the idea of an Oz based theme park in Kansas City that would rival Universal and Disney, and would be based on the MGM movie in what would have been; The Wonderful World of Oz.

The idea; however; was dropped due to financial issues. But, there is an alternative for this. a big corporation has picked up on this idea and has collaborated with Goddard to make a new Wonderful World of Oz in Kansas City that's more faithful to L. Frank Baum's books. And Dobby shall be posting the zones, attractions, shops, restaurants, entertainment, and hotels; giving you a detailed look behind The Oz Resort.
Tomorrow, I shall take you into Dorothy's Kansan home, before we go over the rainbow.
