So we rented the big cabana at the Poly...

and it was awesome! This was due to a fortunate series of events though. Last year, my wife and I rented one of the smaller cabanas at the Polynesian and loved it, so this trip we decided to do the same, but we had our two kids with us this time. To make a long story short, Disney messed up and wound up giving us the use of the large cabana for the price of the smaller one. It was fantastic! Our own little section of the beach, big screen tv, dining room table, loungers. We didn't want to leave when our time was up! If you had a large group (6 or more) this would be a wonderful thing to rent if you could afford it for the day or half day.

Yeah, we really lucked out. We had just returned from our first ever cruise (on the Dream, which was excellent) the day before and wanted to keep up with the R&R. Funny thing, when we checked into our room, it looked like they forgot to thoroughly clean the bathroom, as there was a wee bit of yellow fluid in the toilet. I called the front desk and they credited my account half a nights stay and cleaned up the mess ASAP.

What's the differences between this cabana and the small ones, besides location?

Mainly size of the cabana, the tv, and some of the amenities. The large one is perfect for groups of 4 or more. The small ones for groups of 2-4 IMO.
