So if I said part of Epcot smells terrible, could you guess where that was?

Been here for just over 2 weeks now having a great time doing the parks and enjoying everything Orlando has to offer. Did Epcot for the fourth time today and noticed the same thing I did on our first visit there this trip, that part of it stinks really badly. That first visit I thought to myself "It's got to be a one off, maybe the toilets have backed up or something", however today it still stunk. Can anybody guess which part I'm talking about?

The part in question is inside the building that houses 'Club Cool', but on the opposite side from it. If you walked from either Journey or The Land towards 'Club Cool' and cut through (past the photos of Epcot's development), it's just there. It's kind of like the smell we all get to enjoy when we get into a lift of a multi storey car park, that lovely smell of urine or worse that some kind soul has decided to share with us all. As I say on day one about a week and a half or so ago, I thought it a one off. Yet today it was still there and I again checked with Mrs Merg that I wasn't imagining it as lots of folk were sitting resting there looking fairly contented. Some people were even eating there, I felt like shouting "Come on people what's wrong with you, this is like dining in a public toilet" (I didn't by the way).

Has anyone else experienced this or not? Surely we're not that unlucky that on four visits we've arrived just after somebody hasn't made it to the toilets in time, the odds on that must be so ridiculously high to rule that out?

Many's the time I've been in that corridor, and many's the time I've used the ladies portion of those toilets, but no, I've never felt overwhelmed by the "scent" in that area.

But if you're there RIGHT NOW, maybe Food & Wine Fest is to blame? Maybe someone had a bit too much and was sick?

This is the infamous corridor that used to be empty all the time, but now has a "D-Zone" set up with tables and chairs? If my memory serves me correctly, there was a smallish bathroom in that area. I went in one time on my last trip, and the smell was so bad that I didn't bother doing my business. It was the only time I've ever had that happen at WDW. Maybe a CM with digestive issues works around there. I saw a meme on Facebook that 10 minutes spent in the bathroom every day at work is like getting an extra 40 hours of vacation every year, so...

It's smelt odd forever. No idea why.

When I read the thread title I knew where you meant. Smelled awful last February. Hubby has NO sense of smell and he smelled it.

Not just me then! It's not like a direct sewage smell, but rather like one that they've attempted to mask. It's left with this nasty stench though that's very unpleasant. We'll probably visit one more time before we leave on Wednesday and if so I'll attempt some investigative work and report back.

I didn't smell anything bad that I would attribute to something related to the park itself. To be frank, the only offensive odors were from other visitors to the park. People not wearing deodorant and baking in the hot Florida sun can get pretty ripe. This is also true of toddlers in need of a diaper change. This all can add up to a particularly unique bouquet of odors as the day goes on, especially in the long queue lines for rides.

What bugs me the most is when people and several on this board proclaim that taking a dip in the pool suffice a shower. NO! and do not get on the bus in a rainstorm... Yikes.

I've always noticed a "sewage" smell (for lack of a better term) on the outside part of that building facing the WS near Club Cool. It's the same smell that's near the restrooms part of the Germany Pavilion. No matter what time of day and year I go, still there. Yuck!

The smell comes from the tunnels down there. They throw away leftovers from electric umbrella into big containers. Yeah it smells awful but it smells way worse down there, trust me.

It did smell a little off to me and DBF when we walked through this past month. Moldy/mildew-y? I forget. But it was noticeable.

I always relax here as well. I've never encountered any smells on this side of the building. Occasionally, the Character Spot smells odd when I'm in there.
