Shuffling ADRs

My original plan for visiting Be Our Guest was to do a quick-service lunch there on one of our "MK mornings." (We have two small kids, so we're likely in the parks each day from opening-to-just-after-lunch; returning or hitting another park after naps.)

Anyway, I'm now starting to get paranoid about BoG being mobbed for quick-service, so I'm thinking of shuffling some ADRs (and park plans) to fit in a TS dinner for BoG.

Couple of questions though:
  • Would you drop dinner and a show (Fantasmic!) to accommodate a dinner at BoG? I don't know how late my kiddos might be able to stay up each night, so I thought F! would be a good show for them to see (6:30pm show the night we have it scheduled).
    • Other closing shows we might see: Wishes (from Poly beach our first night), IllumiNations one night, and (possibly) MK rope drop one morning

  • Does Garden Grill serve lunch? And is it a character meal for lunch? We currently have it scheduled for a dinner, but it may get dropped for BoG dinner.....
    • Other character meals I have scheduled for our trip: Akershus breakfast, Chef Mickey's dinner, and Crystal Palace breakfast. I was shooting for one character meal per day as to not overload the kiddos. haha But I really wanted to see Chip and Dale. :(

Any advice is appreciated!! Thanks!!

I would not drop dinner and a show for the new restaurant. It will be there on your next trip and shows are harder to schedule.

Garden Grill does not serve lunch.

When are you going? If crowds aren't that bad, you might be able to swing lunch a BoG. How many days are you going for?

In scheduling things I always make sure we see each closing show - Wishes, Fantasmic and Illuminations - at least one time each, plus the nighttime parade at MK.

You have some great character meals scheduled (we've done all of those), and I'd keep Garden Grill if I were you and just take my chances on a BoG quick service. You can always walk through it and see the dining rooms even if you don't eat there this trip.

The only reason I'd shuffle things around for BoG dinner is if it's something you've got your heart set on. That's not to say you shouldn't do it, but I don't know if it's worth missing out on Fantasmic! if dining there for dinner isn't one of the main priorities for your trip. I agree that it will likely be chaos at lunch- at least in the early stages, but it might not be as big of an issue depending on when you're going.

I know Garden Grill has been doing some lunch testing lately, but as of right now- dinner is the only official option.

Thanks for all of the advice!! After speaking with DH earlier, he is not all that enthused about the dinner menu at BoG. He's weird. LOL So, I think we will be keeping the status quo........and trying for a QS lunch one of our MK days.

We are going in January for Marathon Weekend. Our open lunch days for potential BoG QS are Sat Jan 12 or Mon Jan 14. I'm thinking Monday might be a little less congested than a weekend day.
