She Kissed a Frog and She Liked It! July 2012 Trip Report

Hi Everyone,

We are back from our latest trip to WDW and it was a blast. WDW is still a magical place despite some of the issues she may be experiencing, we truly had a great family vacation. Seeing the Magic Kingdom through the eyes of a three year old gives you a whole new perspective.

Anyone have a trick for shrinking photos so they can upload to the website? Every time I try to post a pic I get told that the file is too large. Anyone know what the max size is? Thanks, full report is on its way!

The Pre Trip report can be read here: http://forums.wdwmagic.com/threads/i-dont-want-to-kiss-a-frog-ptr.841333/, it'll give you a taste for the cast.

CM was a lot of fun, we always did character meals before Molly so I know exactly what you mean!

I 100% know what you mean about feeling blessed to have a daughter. Our is a little over two and will be almost three when we go to Disney next year.

Terrific Trip Report. Informative for me for next year too.

Great report so far. I love the fact that we were there about the same time, I too have a 3 year old but a little boy so it will be fun to compare notes. Your daughter is gorgeous and looks like she is having so much fun. The shots at Chef Mickeys are priceless. We took our son there last year and he had the same sort of face. Don't you just love them!! And how about grandma!! Way to go..

Can't wait to read more...

By the way how do you resize the pics. I am trying to in my own, and it is fighting me any words of wisdom on that end?

We need time for things to happen.
Great Start! Looking forward to the rest!

I have to say this TR is hitting home as we're from CT and we always leave out of Bradley (only 49 more days)!

Your daughter is adorable - I can't wait to see more pics of her interaction with the characters she looks like she is in heaven.

Also thanks a bunch for getting a Katy Perry song stuck in my head - the guy in the cube next to me is loving it!! ;)

Thank you for the compliments! More trip report coming very soon.
To resize my photos, (I'm on a Mac with iphoto), I have to select the pics I want, choose export, then there is a menu that lets you change the size, I move it to smallest, then save that on my desktop and then I can upload with no problems.

Day 2: I Wonder If We Will See Any Characters Today?

As day 2 began mom woke up at 5:45, doesn't she know this is vacation, so we could all be ready for our ressies at Cindys Royal Table at 8:05. Now this was a tip I got from this board, we had never booked a restaurant before park open before. Thank you everyone! Strolling down Main Street with almost no crowds was surreal, it was pretty awesome. Our entourage was worried we would be late for breakfast so we had to hustle but got some nice photopass pics on our way.

On the monorail to the Magic Kingdom! Yes Molly is dressed as Cinderella, her favorite princess.

Just to give you an idea of how empty Main Street was.

Geez, I accidently posted that before I finished! Day 2 Continued!

Anyway we got to Cindy's in plenty of time, Molly was amazed with the castle and the fact that we were going into the castle. We had our photos with Cindy and headed to breakfast. I should tell you that Cinderella was really good with Molly, she spoke with her for awhile. We guess it's because she wore the Cindy dress. The photo came out great! It is a limited breakfast menu but the food was pretty good.
IMG_0498.jpg

I had the traditional breakfast, scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, and potatoes. Here I had two extra sausage from Grandma! She rules!

Molly of course ate nothing, she literally sat there with her mouth open taking everything in. We had never done the CRT breakfast so it was a nice surprise when each princess was introduced. They played a little song and announced their arrival, Molly would look around the room feverishly to catch a glimpse of the next princess, it was really sweet.

DSC01627.jpg

Molly with Snow White, I really like this picture, Snow White was trying to get Molly to hold her dress the same way that she was, it sorta worked.

DSC01637.jpg

Princess Aurora, Molly's second favorite.

DSC01649.jpg

Belle, always one of Daddy's favorites...

Ariel and Molly

DSC01655.jpg

A very excited three year old!

They played a special song and all the little princesses and princes got a do some magic with their wands and swords. The lights flickered as everyone said "bibbity, bobbity, boo"! Molly thought this was great and kept trying to make the lights flicker all day, LOL. I had to explain to her that all the princesses and princes had to do it at the same time. That worked for awhile...

So as we were finishing up Molly says, "but we didn't see all the princesses" (mind you she has beautiful blue eyes and a tone that would melt your heart)?

Me: What are you talking about sweetheart?

Molly: What about Tiana and Rapunzel?

OK, so this is how its gonna go, LOL. We then proceed on a character quest to find the missing Princesses.
The rest of Day 2 is coming...

So we wandered out of Cindy's Castle and discussed the best course of action. My sister had been to WDW a week or so before us and she said it was tough to find Rapunzel so we decided to look for Tiana. My handy - dandy Disney Verizon app told me that Tiana would not be available until 10:15, so we decided to head towards adventureland to find some fairies when we ran into...

DSC01677.jpg

Lady Tremaine and the Step Sisters! Molly always reenacts the scene where the step sisters rip Cinderella's dress, so she was actually scared to meet them! After some coaxing the step sisters were very sweet once they realized Molly was scared, they must get that alot. Anyway we took some pictures until mom said "you better be nice to Cinderella!" Well that was it and they flew into quite a scene, saying things like "your not our mother, etc. It was really funny and even Molly laughed.

We continued towards Adventureland and found that the fairies only had a 10 minute wait, sweet!

DSC01735.jpg

Vidia was up first, not one of Molly's favorites as you can tell...

DSC01744.jpg

The last fairy was Tinker Bell, Molly's favorite fairy!

We headed outside and found this guy!
DSC01706.jpg

Love Donald Duck!

While we were wandering Molly went on her first Disney ride: the Magic Carpets. I did not see this coming but it was a walk on and she wanted to go so:

Molly and Grandpa on the Magic Carpets!

It was getting close to 10 so we decided to head back and nose around the Tiana area. Well what do we find, the princess herself!
DSC01753.jpg

As you may have figured out, "The Princess and The Frog" goes back and forth with "Cinderella" as Molly's favorite movies. She was very excited.

Next we headed down to Main Street to find Rapunzel! So we found the fastpass machine for the M & G with Mickey and the Princesses. A great cast member told us that we could get fastpasses for both groups at once! Score!

We had some time to kill so Molly had her first Mickey Premium Bar, so good...
IMG_0509.jpg
Yes, she ate the ear first!

Then we walked over to Le Chapeau, one of mom's favorite places. The girls all picked out ears, the guys were all happy with our ball caps or safari hats. As we chatted with a cast member we told her that it was Molly's first visit and she offered to do her embroidery for free! A little magic!

While we waited for our ears, we found Mary Poppins outside:

The winning ears! yes that is a shoe on top of Molly's. I liked it, mom hated it...

By now it was time to see the Mouse and Minnie with our fast pass. Sorry no pics, we used photopass for this one. Then we headed into the princess rooms, may I say that fastpass is awesome because otherwise I would have had to wait for 60 minutes to see these ladies.

And...

DSC01822.jpg

Rapunzel! Of course I immediately texted my sister to let her know that we found her! Molly was now content that she met all the princesses so we headed back to the Poly for a nap.
(Luckily she forgot about Mulan!)

We rode the resort launch back to the Poly, such a pleasant ride:

Molly plotting our return trip to Magic Kingdom!

We stopped at Captain Cooks for lunch, I had the Pulled Pork Nachos, yes you read that right.
IMG_0522.jpg

So good that I will have them again later in the trip. They use fresh made potato chips and tortilla chips, yummmmmmmm!

After a brief nap we took the monorail to EPCOT for a bit. We took in some sights, and headed for Nemo, Molly really didn't care for this one. And to be fair she said she didn't want to go on it an I convinced her to give it a shot. We did Turtle Talk next, Molly really liked that one, she had even raised her hand to ask a question but then pulled it down. We purchased our first "friends" of this trip, a Crush and Bruce stuffed animal. I think Crush is actually Squirt but whatever, she was happy. :)

Next we headed to Coral Reef for dinner.
IMG_0528.jpg

Grandpa getting silly with Molly's ear on our way to Coral Reef.

Molly really got a kick out of the aquarium dining, it helped that there were some divers in the tank doing some funny tricks, blowing kisses, etc.

I had the lobster soup - it was ok, the New York strip - delicious, and the chocolate wave - ok. The restaurant was very noisy but we really enjoyed the view!
IMG_0526.jpg

The gang at dinner, molly is watching the aquarium, she particularly enjoyed when a shark would swim by.

After dinner we headed back to the Poly, we discovered that Mickey had come and visited our room! Thanks aunts! :)
IMG_0530.jpg

The package was pretty awesome and molly was super excited, in fact it took her till after 10 to fall asleep. Those are Rice Crispy Mickeys that say welcome!

Next up Animal Kingdom and more EPCOT!
