There is NOTHING pathetic about Sharknado or watching it multiple times. I heard a rumor it may even be on Netflix!

Nothing sad or pathetic about enjoying the spectacle that is Sharknado. Around here, it is kinda like a religion.is on TV and I am watching it ... again...this is sad.

I am dying to see this train wreck camp fest as much as anyone else, but unfortunately, Variety, which can usually be trusted with pretty fair reviews, has just trashed the entire thing,. Review is here:

My hunch is that even with this bad review, it probably won't stop the shark fans from lining up for the new movie!

I'm just curious as to what Variety's reviews were for the first two movies. Hard to judge one review without some context.

I can't seem to find the Variety review for the original, but Rotten Tomatoes for that one is at 82% positive -

Sharknado 3 is currently at 45% positive, but again, I can't wait to watch and love every rotten minute of it.

I can see how a paper devoted to "real" film and theater might look down upon something like a third sequel to a "B" SciFi movie...especially one as tongue-in-cheek as this series has been.
But you know what, I'll still watch it too!

Well that was a surprisingly huge amount of fun. Just like the previous editions, it had a ridiculous story, laughable dialogue, special effects that look like they were done by a sophomore in film school in his dad's basement, and acting that was cheesier than an extra-large pizza. But somehow all these rotten elements came together to form a really delicious pie. A very guilty pleasure that I enjoyed from beginning to end.

I found it utterly ridiculous. The plot was so unbelievable! A teenager not realizing they did not have their cell phone? Oh please. That would NEVER happen.
I've actually only seen the first half but aside from their attempts to use a swirling shark-i-cane to hypnotize us into visiting Universal Orlando I am really enjoying the flick.

The AV Club gave it their infamous F rating. The reviewer gave the first two As, but I think the Twitter poll broke her brain with this one.

Also I just booked a room at Universal Orlando's Cabana Bay Resort. Not sure why, but I just woke up and really felt compelled to do it.
