Rude CMs

For the first time in 20 years, I encountered a rude CM. It happened 2 times this trip.

First - playing the game in Dino land that you toss the balls and hope one lands on one of the colored circles and you get a prize. The person next to me has a ball land on the yellow for the extra large prize. I stop throwing, and still have 3 balls. The CM tells me thow my balls, I tell her no, the big prize is covered, I will wait till she gives it out and I have my chance. She says no, throw your balls. I move so I don't knock the winner loose. She did not seem to understand the logic that my chance to win the big pride was my reason for playing and that it was no longer available to me. I told her to "have a magical day" in the tone that she knows exactly what that means.

2nd - MK Main Street. I step out of the Art of Disney to look for my wife. The parade is coming by. I look right, I look left. Some woman is in my face yelling get on the other side of the tape! She keeps repeating herself several times. Just yelling. I look at her in the eyes and say "no" pause "I am not watching the parade, I am going back inside".

Now, maybe it's just me, but I don't tolerate being yelled at. I also don't handle those who can't understand simple logic or math well either. One thing I do know, I am better behaved at WDW than everywhere else. As many times as I get shoved out of the way by those in a hurry, or move to avoid a aggressive stroller driver, I keep my mouth shut. I am sure deep down I know that I enjoy my AP and will not risk getting banned.

The big prize was won by my daughter, she gave it to the first little kid near us in line for the time travel coaster.

You don't tolerate a majority of the population then. How on earth do you cope?

The first one just sounds like you were disappointed you didnt get the main prize and the CM wanted to speed the games along quickly.

You sound like one of those people that does not understand math. I buy 5 balls hoping to land 1 on the only yellow spot out of 100. First ball 1 out 100 chance, 2nd 1 out 99 chance. 3rd no chance. I paid for 5 chances at the big prize. Just because the slot machine next to me pays out big, the casino does not say no more jackpots, but keep playing anyway.

I could be misremembering because its been a while since i took a gander at that particular game, but dont you have the chance to land the ball off of the table?

Every ball either goes down a hole and loses, or lands on a hole that is too big to fall through and wins. Color determines prize level.

I miss the hammer swing game that is now unused.

I gotta say, this sounds like a rude guest to me.

Aww that's cute. I can see now why the CMs were rude to you, if they were even rude to you at all.

Now, I am not going to deny that I can be a confrontational Alpha Hotel, I always will treat people respectfully. Now, if the same respect is not returned, or any interaction with me starts off in a way that I feel is less respectful than I deserve, you get the AH.

Both my wife and daughter (DCP) felt the game attendant was rude too.

I've visited WDW off and on for 30 years. In that time, I can only recall one CM that was rude, and I think he was just overwhelmed working the first few days when Disney rolled out the new Magic Express Bus service. (I think that was back around 2005).

Just a thought: between your 20 years of visits, and my 30 years, that's only a combined total of 3 CMs (out of hundreds) that caught our attention, for one reason or another. In any huge organization, I'd say that's quite impressive--in my opinion, the majority of CMs over the years have done a wonderful job. I hope your next visit to WDW turns out better for you.

OK, you bought 5 balls. 1 of the 5 had already won the Extra Large Prize. I am sorry, I am with the CM that you need to throw the other balls as well. There is no sign there saying you have a chance to win 5 Extra Large Prizes. You simply throw all 5, collect what you won, and off on your way.

As for the Tape CM, I agree with her. With the parade about to start, the cluster of people, and the limited place for people to move, people like you step over, then the next person, and the next. It becomes chaos. I am willing to bet that you would stay behind the tape if you would get banned by stepping over it. I am also sure that if you didn't step over the tape, the CM would not have had to discipline you.

Maybe next time you take a look at the rude person in the mirror.

That was my thought process on the game. How I'm reading he bought 5 balls to share? So you get 5 chances to win and they got on the 2nd chance.
