Ride Stoppage/Breakdown Stories

We've been stuck on many, the worst in november 2013 on the TTA. It stopped five times and the ride lasted forever!!
The weirdest one was being asked to leave the Indy Jones show in HS because the computer went down what synchronised the stunts at the beginning:(
A much larger computer. Everything has been computerized for many years, even in Walt's time.

We got stuck on CoP in the same room like four times, but that was because everyone in the room with us were total morons who would NOT. STAY . IN . THEIR . SEATS . and they kept getting up and opening the door and triggering the ride system to basically repeat the scene you were just in over again. I've told this story here before, but I literally had to restore order myself by shouting "NO! STOP! GET BACK IN YOUR SEAT!" at some guy who was not only trying to get up right before the room started moving, but was attempting to do so with a small baby in his arms. The CM had yelled at people over the PA like 10 times already but apparently knowing that The Crazy Lady In the Other Row was mad at them made them finally simmer down, hahaha.

We used to get stuck on HM in the part where you start going backwards at a very slight incline (on your way to the graveyard scene at the end) all the time.

We almost had to leave the monorail a couple trips ago when something broke and it was having trouble leaving the Epcot station back to TTC. We sat there for probably 30 minutes while they rebooted something like 5 times. It finally moved but we went back to TTC at about 3 miles an hour the whole way. We could have walked back to the Polynesian from Epcot faster, haha. Actually our last two trips have involved some occasionally terrible monorail service, but that is a rant for another thread.

I'm honestly surprised that I've spent so many days at WDW in my life and never once been evacuated from a ride or had to see the lights come on, etc. (Note to Theme Park Gods: I do not want this to happen to me next time, thanks.)

Hahahaha! In some respects I wish my experience was captured for posterity. I'm sure I am not the only person who's had this experience. I felt so bad for the CM who just kept telling people to SIT DOWN, going as far as essentially telling them "The ride keeps getting stuck because you won't sit down, and also it's not SAFE to walk around on a moving attraction" and people STILL were doing it. I hate to be That Curmudgeon, too, but these are the same people who I'm sure would have been at Town Hall whining about getting free stuff if they actually HAD gotten hurt.

I don't "do" confrontations; I'm Midwestern and I generally will let a lot of stuff slide in the name of not starting anything. But this was just insanity. I couldn't take it anymore!

One time on test track the seat by harness for some reason tightened up on me so right I couldn't move and I was pressed against the seat, all was good until I for stuck for half an hour and I was ready to break out the small knife on my keychain

Dinosaur: Broke down as soon as the Compsognathus jumped over the rover. Stayed stationary for a couple minutes while the rover continued to rock back and forth. Lights went on soon after and we had to be escorted out.

We were given specific instructions to not take any pictures (a fair request) and the CM who escorted us out told us to look straight ahead and not at any of the effects. Even with the lights on the dinos (especially Carnotaurus) look awesome. The last one from above, though, is so hokey looking in the lights. Excellent ride to see with the lights on, though. Very cool experience.

While they can certainly request that you not take pictures, there is no way that they can enforce it with today's technology nor enforce you not looking at the stuff.

That's just asinine.

I totally agree with that. I just made it a point to say it because they were so adamant about people not looking around. Didn't stop anyone but it's worth noting.
