Heave-Ho Halfpipe

The newest attraction coming to Typhoon Lagoon will also add something never seen before at Disney waterparks, a halfpipe.
water-half-pipe_hot-park_brasil.jpg
Styled as a half sunken ship that has crashed into a shark infested reef, this new tube slide experience will be well worth the wait.
2e4c002e-2485-44ae-a32a-d88ab112bbac-6551176_G.jpg

Guests begin their journey by entering into a gaping hole in the hull and making their way through the bowels of the ship to get on deck.
PC4.jpg
As the ship has sunk half tilted in the water, guests will wander through rooms where all of the furnishings are tiled at a severe angle.
stock-photo-sinking-ship-66615616.jpg
All loose items lay in heaps against the far walls, but guests can still catch a glimpse of maps and charts indicating the intended final destination of this vessel.

The wooden side boards bulge against the water pushing in, causing spontanious leaks that catch the guests unawares, and a fine mist permeates the inside of the ship (keeping guests cool on those hot days).

Once on deck, guests get a great view of the damaged rigging with the main mast snapped in half, the canvas sail still connected via ropes.

A spiral staircase winds up the remainder of the main mast well hidden within the ropes of the rigging.

(As the guests reached the top of the damaged mast, they see the entrance to the slide which is the top portion of the mast)
IMG_4745.JPG

Once guests are situated in their tubes, they are given to the go ahead, sliding down the mast into the half pipe sail. After several times back and forth (sometimes near vertical), the tubes drop into a twisting maze of rocks and protruding parts of the reef.

The ride culminates as the slide enters the Shark Reef through an underwater tube.

In this extended version of the classic underwater slide, riders can catch great visuals of the aquatic life along with the skeletons of the crew from the wrecked ship.

I wish you would slide down from that ledge, my friend reviews:

Team Magic: Tundra Tumbler
In general, I like the concept of bringing a water coaster to BB, although this seems to lack a bit. No exterior theming or apparent sense of story (which admittedly isn't found on most slides). And, it seems that the plot you chose would have this replacing the Downhill Double Dipper. In general, there could have been more, but love the model. 8/15

Team Wonder: Heave- Ho Halfpipe
Wow! This is an amazing concept, that I could really see at Typhoon Lagoon (if TDO opened their wallets). I think it was very restive theming the Halfpipe to a ships sail, and I am glad that you added the second part to prevent it from being a two second ride, overall great job! 14/15

Río de la Vida

The River of Life

Backstory

"The River of Life" will be a cultural excursion through the rich Mexican heritage, historically dating back as far as the Aztecs. While prior renditions focused on certain elements of Mexican tradition - this adventure will hopefully give guests a more immersive and holistic experience, going from the past to the present in new and unique ways.

Ride Changes

r-1410141099-MexicoPavilion1.jpg

Given the layout above of the Mexico Pavilion - several changes were made to the overall attraction.

1 - New Entrance
Rather than the small switchback queue with little theme that is present today - the gift shop and Kidcot Fun Spot to the left of the original queue will be moved to a different location (near the new lagoon restaurant outside of the Mexico Pavilion) This will allow the queue to be expanded and quell any traffic/guest flow problems that may arise with the new attraction.

2 - Reversed Course
Rio de la Vida will go backwards from the previous ride route, and reverse the scene by scene of the attraction with new interior designs.

3 - New Theme
As mentioned before - the new attraction will expand the boundaries of the original incarnation of the attraction, and focus on a wide variety of Mexican cultures/customs.

Ride-Through

Scene 1 - The Cave of Crystals

Caves-of-Crystals-2.jpg

As you begin the journey - you sail into The Cave of Crystals. The atmosphere is similar to that of the Pirates of the Caribbean introduction in the cave. Sharp rocks and formations around you as you see the glowing crystals and luminescent water around you.

Scene 2 - The Aztec Temple

16041682106_88c6c84feb_b.jpg

You then sail towards an Aztec Temple on the right hand side of the boat (where the finale stage used to be). Around you are Aztecs working and doing their daily lives that they would centuries ago.

Scene 3 - Mexico Through The Years

3rd-mexico-city-street-scene-1850s.jpg

As you wind to the straight shoot, you go through a Mexican Town through the years - and watch the shops evolve and grow with the changing times and customs. You see the small marketplaces and shops lining the street as Mexico grows and evolves towards the present day.

Scene 4 - Mexican Revolution - Cinco De Mayo

tierra_y_libertad.jpg

Winding the corner to enter the original Day of the Dead sequence - it is now a Mexican Revolution scene - as you see the times where Mexico garnered its independence and the celebration of Cinco De Mayo.

Scene 5 - Day of the Dead Ceremony

Misanthrope's+Guide+to+Gran+Fiesta+Tour+Starring+Three+Caballeros+6.JPG

The original Day of the Dead sequence will be adjusted and moved down towards the original first scene - with new effects and animatronics to populate it. As an easter egg to the previous attraction - there will be a Donald Duck figure in the corner as you enter the tunnel.

Scene 6 and Finale

Epcot-Mexico-02.jpg

You enter the tunnel which is now populated by scenes of Mexico today. Cites, skyscrapers, homes, and more...as you leave the tunnel you can then see the San Angel Inn restaurant to your left and the temple to your right - illustrating to you the past and present of Mexico - and hope for a better tomorrow.

Exit/Gift Shops

IMG_5270.jpg

As you exit via part of the original queue - you wind up in the main "town" center - where a variety of Mexico Pavilion specific gifts are sold.

Green Line - This new ride starts off all guests inside a boardroom, where a narrator and audio animatronics describe Walt's vision for EPCOT, and how Walt's death halted the project. "But Walt's creativity has lived on and has been reborn," the narrator explains. The ride takes us through scenes from various groundbreaking movies such as: Snow White and the Seven Dwarves, Peter Pan, Pirates of the Caribean, Frozen, Big Hero 6 (or Guardians of the Galaxy, if Marvel is allowed in this small case), Wreck-It Ralph (or Toy Story if Pixar is allowed in this small case), Aladin, and Fantasia. The ride concludes with our car driving through a Tomorrowland (2015 movie) inspired vision of EPCOT City, which is created using screens, and the narrator telling us "Imagination never dies." This line will move guests into a showroom replacing the Tomorrowland Speedway, for the first scene

Red Line - This is an improved version of the current people mover. Essentially, a tour of Tommorwland, with the EPCOT scene being replaced a scene portraying an homage to Horizons.

Blue Line - This line uses the other section of the non-existent speedway. It is a super-fast space themed real maglev that shoots trains loaded with guests the world of Guardians of the Galaxy. Race through Knowhere, and other iconic locations.

Team Magic Presents: Quest Bay

Backstory and Design

Quest Bay is inspired by old world Europe and steampunk architecture - that flows from the backdrop of Fantasyland to the Western World of Frontierland. Set in 1899, the area was founded by explorer and British architect Cornelius Walker and his collegues on a trek from Scotland to London. On the western side of the island was a bay that looked out onto the Atlantic Ocean. The builder in Cornelius was astounded by the view and how the environment was so majestic around him. He contacted his long friend Harrison Hightower III upon his discovery - telling him that he spotted several areas along the way that contained valuables for him to collect - however Hightower's presence in Quest Bay is minor compared to the influence of Walker - who built the town square with his bare hands.

One of the more unique lands at Disneyland - this area in the back corner of the park will fill out the varying decors of the park as a whole - by providing a look that will never go out of style - as it is the style of the late 1800s (similar to Discoveryland in Disneyland Paris)

The "weenie" of the area will be a large, sprawling 80 ft clocktower that will soar over the facades. It will contain a walk through exhibit, exploring the history of Quest Bay and the inhabitants as they journey all over Europe to this town.

The Plot:
One of his inventions is friendly - named Berty (the robot seen in the mage below but some develop consciousness and turn bad -- with a plot of terrorizing the town. In this trackless dark ride experience - you will travel with Berty to try and find the Smith's inventions before they break loose.

Ride Vehicle:

(modified to ride three on a bench, double benches)

The Ride: Travel around the town while looking for escaped robots. One unique twist with this ride is that it allows for riders to choose their own path. At several points during the ride, guests will be asked which part of the town they would like to explore. By choosing a button on their ride vehicle they can choose between several doors. For example, if they want to search by the water they can choose door A but choosing Door B will take them to the Clock Tower. This creates a ride guests will want to experience again and again.

Ride System

This state of the art coaster meets tower of terror like drops is a technical marvel. It connects to a platform for motion movement either like a simulator or as a drop like The Tower of Terror.

Exterior

Connected to the "Top of the World Restaraunt," this e-ticket headliner will continue the land's theme of exploration by adding a new dimension into the mix. The exterior will look like a Steampunk City-Hall.

Queue

You walk through the quiet halls of the exploration center in a night-time setting: This leads to creating an eeriness that builds up for that of the ride itself. You Continue into a 3-story lobby with massive pipes that contain steam spouting about; but, you start on the 3rd floor. Going down stairs leads you to a door labeled "Exploration Testing Facilities: Only proceed with Imagination Clearance!" And Imagination clearances you have not been given. When you enter, steam pipes blow off steam, and finally in the loading area is where the excitement happens. In the load station, it is themed that you are in a steampunk chamber that contains ride vehicles that teleport you.

Ride experience & Story
The theme is that you are visiting and get tangled up in politics by a bad people attempting to overthrow SEA, and to do so they want to steal an A-I technology from a foreign planet. You arrive at night, thus why it is dark, and they have broken into the Teleportation Chamber for you to go into it. Once you teleport using a track segment motion base to give a crazy eerie feeling with projections surrounding you-you eventually stop, everything goes black, and drop. You have reached your destination. You have arrived, thousands of light years away on a planet that is completely run by A-I robots, the world where all humans are lost, lost through division & hatred. A-I once invented used this trait of humans and exploited it, and by that took over the world. Now your goal, which the bad people tell you, eventually they risk killing you to grab the A-I to take over the world and kill everyone on Earth, thus SEA will be gone. But, their mission fails when you are seen as an infidel for mot being robots on the planet, and because of that, you are teleported home to Earth. The Leaders of Sea take over and arrest the people, and you are free to live on as an explorer!

Ok I've got a more complete version of our land here, thanks to @kmbmw777 for posting the rough draft.
The Land of Legends
This is a transitional land between Fantasyland and Critter Country taking the place of Star Wars Land. It will be anchored by the new Heroes franchise created by myself with elements from Marvel and Pocahontas.
Sleeping Beauty
Philip's Thrilling Tale
Queue: We enter through the gates of King Stephan's Castle and into its magnificent courtyard. After some switchbacks, we enter into the throne room, before heading up the stairs and into the hallway. Another turn and we enter Princess Aurora's Chambers. There seems to be nowhere to go before thunder crashes and a green flame appears on a second story.
Pre-show: The green flame dies down and an animatronic of Maleficent appears, telling the story of how she cursed Aurora and then casts a spell on us, putting us right into the story of Sleeping Beauty as the spinning wheel. Once Maleficent leaves, Flora, Fauna, and Merryweather appear to give a happier note. With Love's First Kiss, Princess Aurora will wake. Maleficent appears once more to shoo away the fairies and the fireplace opens up, taking us to the spinning wheels we will act as.
Scene 1: Once Upon a Dream
Our spinning wheels depart and we arrive in a forest. Princess Aurora and Prince Phillip dance as they sing Once Upon a Dream to each other.
Scene 2: The Forbidden Mountain
Our vehicles take a turn and we climb up The Forbidden Mountain and arrive in Maleficent's Palace.
Scene 3: Maleficent's Palace
We take a tour of Maleficent's Palace, a dark scene culminating in a full view of Maleficent in her elegant, terrifying glory as she plots and expresses frustration that Aurora still lives.
Scene 4: Aurora in the Palace
We are brought to Princess Aurora's room as Flora, Fauna, and Merryweather leave the girl and she cries over not being able to see the man she met again, not knowing he is her betrothed. Maleficent's voice is heard commanding the girl to rise and follow.
Scene 5: Fireplace Tunnel
The train of ride vehicles separate into three.
Scene 6: Finger prick (three separate identical rooms)
Our ride vehicle makes a turn and heads straight as Maleficent's voice commands Aurora to touch the spindle. The vehicle stops as an animatronic Aurora walks up to the vehicle and touches the spindle. The room darkens as Maleficent laughs and our vehicle zooms out of the room.
Scene 7: Briars and Thorns
We enter a projection tunnel of growing briars and thorns as we rejoin our companions. We make another turn.
Scene 8: Dark Transformation
Maleficent stands, threatening Prince Phillip, and begins transforming into a dragon via projections.
Scene 9: Dragon Battle
Prince Phillip and a massive animatronic Dragon Maleficent battle it out amongst briars and thorns.
Scene 10: Dragon Slaying
We see a screen with Prince Phillip slaying the dragon.
Scene 11: True Love's Kiss
Prince Phillip awakens Aurora with a kiss for Happily Ever After. We unload and exit out into the Land of Legends
Notes: The Spinning Wheels will hold six guests and the seats will look like they are made out of thorns. Three rows of two will be the seat organization. The spindle will extend out so that the Aurora animatronic won't get too close. The ride system will be a faux-trackless experience with omnimover elements, with the track embedded under the floor and the vehicles able to turn sideways.
Hunchback of Notre Dame
The area takes the look of a square with Notre Dame towering over it. A show featuring the gypsies from the film celebrating the Festival of Fools and a dark ride in the cathedral depicts Quasimodo's journey.
Hercules
A Hero's Journey
Guests enter a replica of the Temple of Zeus, and the queue will wind through the many artifacts dedicated to Hercules and his 12 Labors.

Final Reviews, Results, and Remarks

Quest Bay by Team Magic:
Right off the bat I am impressed by your concept, as I love the SEA concept along with steampunk. Admittedly, I am not a fan of the name "Quest Bay" as it doesn't seem to flow. It admittedly reminded me of Discovery Bay as well. While it will blend well with Fantasyland and Frontierland, I can't help but wonder about the transition with Critter Country. The two rides were well layed out and put together, although some ride stats had me a bit confused. Overall, solid project.

88/100 gems

Team Wonder Land of Legends:
I like how you tied it to mickeyfan's new Disney Heroes line, but admittedly, the land felt disjointed. I liked all of the rides, but none of them couldn't have gone elsewhere, as Sleeping Beauty/ Phillip's ride belongs in Fantasyland, as well as Hercules. I liked all of the elements, just not together.
