Help!! Right now booked at the Polynesian for a week in September, and during that time some websites are stating the Volcano pool will be closed. Traveling with 3 kids and this would just ruin the trip. Called Disney Travel, they say they have nothing showing the pool to be closed in September, but multiple unofficial sited have the same dates up. Trying to deal with the chance of having to move now, rather than showing up and having it ruin at least one day for sure. Any ideas on how to get confirmation from Disney? They tell me they can't confirm anything in writing because it may change, but closing down a pool for 2 weeks does not seem like something that would be decided on quickly unless it was an emergency issue.

Even if this is true, the Poly has a quiet pool to use and in the past, when the volcano pool has closed for refurb, guests have been allowed to use the pools at the Grand Floridian, just one monorail stop away.
The Poly is a wonderful place to stay and all the rooms have been recently refurbished, so please don't allow a possible volcano pool closure cause you to change your plans!

Yep there is a bit of confusion on this one. Travel agents have been informed of the refurb, but some of Disney's internal systems apparently do not show it. Recently refurbs have been coming and going with fairly short notice. If you want to play it safe, consider moving resorts.

Not sure about what dates they're doing it but they've already ordered things like the no diving and depth markers for the pool at the poly.

Do you know what dates they have said the pool will be closed? We will be there for one night in early Sept and while this won't make or break it for us, we'd like to be able to try the pool out since we're not sure we will get back to the Poly anytime soon.
