Osborne Lights a GO!

This year is gone for us to see any big moves or changes to hole lands. So they might as well get some revenue from a cool event

That means no construction from now till at least early january 2015 at the studios.

While that's quite possibly true, it's not necessarily the case based on this info. They could absolutely start construction in other areas of the park note related to the SoA -- Soundstage 1, within Echo Lake (using Sounds Dangerous or closing Indy or AIE), replacing Backlot Tour or LMA.

I'd love nothing more than to see construction started somewhere at DHS, but it's fairly obvious nothing is happening there at the time being. Really a shame. So much potential to be had at this park. None of the insiders have even posted about anything coming to DHS anymore. Just Star Wars Land. Eventually. Maybe. Probably. Someday.

Glad to see the Lights return, but they don't necessarily have to knock down the streets for an expansion. Although it seems the best spot as they're just facades. The LMA courtyard is the absolute perfect place for Cars Land. Again, a shame, though a part of me wants it to stay DCA exclusive, and we get something else, though I'd take it in a heartbeat, even though it doesn't seem at all likely anymore.

Remember that the Magic Band infrastructure was just installed at LMA. Wouldn't it be a shame to rip out recently installed infrastructure???

Who cares about expansion? Anyone know a timetable when the lights will be up and running? Don't they start with Christmas decorations right after Halloween?

Seems like the light decorations are only 100% uninstalled for a few months out of the year, same with the castle lights. (sensing a theme change for the Cinderella Castle lighting... aka Elsa & Frozen)

Ehh, if they do it properly (a.k.a carefully and not just left under a tarp backstage) the kiosks/podiums/whatevers are redeployable elsewhere if one breaks. It's really just a small hit for the man hours/cabling from doing the install. In the scheme of the overall budget numbers being floated around for NGE/MM+, a few hundred for labor and parts is nothing.
