Oriental Land Sells All DisneySea Advance Tickets, Paper Says

Urayasu, Japan, Aug. 4 (Bloomberg) -- Oriental Land Co.,
operator of Tokyo Disneyland, sold all the advance tickets for th
opening day of its new DisneySea theme park in just two hours, th
Nihon Keizai newspaper said, without citing its sources.
About 450 people lined up at Oriental Land's ticket center
before 7 a.m. local time, when the company began selling the
tickets, the paper said. It didn't say how many tickets were sold
JTB Corp., Japan's largest travel company, has already accepted
orders for 200,000 tickets, the report said.
Walt Disney Co.'s second park in Japan, built on the shores
of Tokyo Bay, is based on myths and legends of the sea. The new
attraction is scheduled to open on Sept. 4. Oriental Land pays
royalties to Walt Disney Co., which licenses the operation of the
theme park on the east side of Tokyo.
DisneySea's direct economic impact, calculated from building
investment and other spending, will total 638 billion yen ($5.2
billion), the paper said, citing Mitsubishi Research Institute
Inc. analyst Shiro Komatsu. The indirect effect, derived from
other activities with related industries, will amount to 1.9
trillion yen, the paper said, citing Komatsu.
