Day 1 - Disney here we come!!
Friday 1st January 2016
Part 1 - Travel Time

T minus 12 hours to take off
It was New Years Eve and I was sat at home in my PJ’s back in Dublin with my family while everyone else was out boozing and celebrating I was sipping on a cup of hot chocolate Disney style
24183869890_0403b1c913_b.jpg

(it’s butlers hot chocolate, sooooooooooo yummy)
I was a little sad that I didn’t get to spend New Years with Prince Charming (a new character to my stories as of last summer, a native Londoner and a nice unexpected perk that came with my move!) BUT only a little because tomorrow I was going to DISNEY!!!!
My friend (also a hairdresser) had come over earlier in the day to colour and cut my hair so I was feeling extra glam in my 101 dalmations pjs!

24371221232_2f7a2a8766_b.jpg
We stayed up and watched the midnight fireworks in London and then got ourselves to bed ahead of our early start the next day!
There is a bit of a tradition with Disney trips in our house that involves me waking my sister up with a randomly selected Disney song….

I may have forgotten some words…

But who cares because DISNEY!!!

excited-baby.gif

Off to the airport we went… we were flying from Dublin to London and then on to Orlando. Rachel and I were on separate flights as we booked earlier whereas my Parents were flying a little later but via New York. We decided to head to the airport together anyway as my parents booked themselves into one of the lounges.

Rachel’s ready

24371362412_f232336733_b.jpg
I’m ready…

24184098600_4d37167d62_b.jpg

Let’s gooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo

We got through security pretty quickly and with some time to kill decided to get ourselves some more hot chocolate…

25516501504_5af2950aa1_b.jpg
YUMMY!

Before we knew it they called our flight and we were off!

Plane selfie

25466404283_59401aba96_b.jpg

We had a short stopover so I was a little bit anxious about that (and by a little I mean I checked regularly to see if that same flight landed on time on other days) but we actually landed early! YAH!

Enough time for a quick stop at Mc Donalds before heading to our gate.

24453473096_72a3708099_b.jpg
23851501484_d8b311f669_b.jpg

We went through the passport check and were in the holding area waiting to board. It was getting a bit late and I was thinking we must be delayed but then everyone stood up and we got in line to board. And then we waited… and waited… and waited… our scheduled departure time came and we hadn’t even started boarding!! Not only that but they hadn’t made any sort of announcement! I was pretty disappointed with the service from Virgin at this point and everyone around us was really frustrated. They eventually announced that our flight was delayed. ‘REALLY???! I thought we we’d already taken off?!’

We finally got on the plane and all felt right with the world again. I think our total delay was like 45mins.

We’d booked extra legroom to stretch out but also to be at the front of the plane when we arrived in Orlando and get a bit of a jump on the immigration queue.

24371412002_c119ff1331_b.jpg

Hmmmmmm… not as spacious as I was expecting!!!

Luckily Rachel was beside me so I could stretch out in her direction!

24397218261_dbb5e3fedf_b.jpg

All settled with our blankets and of course… FREE ALCOHOL… Bit of a novelty for us to have free drinks on a flight but I only ever have one or two when I’m flying. I find it gives me a headache… maybe the lack of oxygen

Another one of our traditions is to watch a Disney movie on the plane! We had earphone splitters this time so we didn’t have a share one set of headphones! AWESOME!!

We decided to go with the exact same movie as last year…

Any guesses??

ALADDIN OF COURSE!!
It really got us in the mood!

I always find the flight over to Orlando takes AGES because I’m just SOOOOOO EXCITED but it wasn’t too bad this time.

We landed and unfortunately for us they decided to let everyone from the upper deck out ahead of us… grrrrrrrrr

Anyway… we eventually got off and joined the dreaded immigration queue. It wasn’t too bad so we guessed at maybe 40mins to get through. THEN they started letting people into this electronic passport area and as long as you have been to the US in the last 8years maybe?! Which of course we have, you could go through there and scan your passport and take your fingerprint and then just show your receipt and passport again with one of the officers in a different and far smaller queue. It saved us SO MUCH time!!

We grabbed our bags and then queued for the customs check which was about 10mins and longer than normal and finally we were heading to our first ride of the holiday…

FAKE-O-RAIL!!

24184077280_510f800d14_b.jpg

This is when I get the first ‘I’m here’ moment… EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEK!

The airport was still decorated for Christmas… soooo pretty

24453541396_f26ce4317b_b.jpg
Excuse the blurry photo… I was too busy making my way to our hotel transport.

The whole way there I was super giddy… I may have been singing… but people were definitely looking and mostly smiling I think as we came bounding past in an excited blur…

OMG….OMG…OMG

25463874824_a0273a79c6_b.jpg
It’s the magical express!!! I’ve never been on the magical express and I couldn’t wait for my first trip! I’d brought an old magic band and it scanned without issue and we were off to our assigned resort bus…

25463669864_3a1243c68e_b.jpg
I shot this out the window of the bus opposite. We waited a bit.. maybe 15 or 20mins but it felt so long because I just wanted to get to DISNEY!! Then we got moving and I was so happy to hear that Old Key West would be the first stop.

WINNING

We sailed all the way to the turn off for Disney. We were right near the front so I had my camera ready to snap a photo as we whizzed by the all-important welcome sign.

Only we didn’t

25975788502_2c73f3d6a1_b.jpg

What the what???!!!

WHY so busy Disney??!!! I’d never seen traffic like this at the entrance! I think the probably was that some of the car parks had been closed as they’d reached capacity.

WEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEGH

Here it is

26068140975_65f9ebe82c_b.jpg
Next stop Old Key West… I really didn’t know what to expect from this resort because nobody every seems to stay there. Not like actually nobody but I don’t ever read trip reports from people staying there and to be honest we only choose it because of a great offer on the UK Disney site that included free dining AND discounted room rate.
ChristmasKey01.jpg

We were dropped off right at reception and quickly made our way in to collect our magic bands. There was a bit of an issue with one of our bands that meant we were delayed quite a while.
I JUST WANT TO GET TO THE PARKS PEOPLE!!!
Luckily the receptionist was really nice and when we explained that our parents flight had been delayed and that they would be rushing to make our dinner reservation so we wanted to arrange a tax she gave us a slip for a free taxi to apologise for the hassle with our magic bands.
Don't you just LOVE Disney service!!
We went to bell services to have our bags brought to our room and a very friendly CM offered to take us to our room by golf cart! YES PLEASE!
26001854241_58fd0804d4_b.jpg

GOLF CART SELFIE
25975484632_6404025a6e_b.jpg

We quickly dropped our bags off and went for a bus to MK. There was a stop right outside our room and a bus came almost right away. But then it went all around the resort.... and back up to reception... note to self to walk to reception for the bus from now on!
MK HERE WE COME...

Day 1 - Disney here we come!!
Friday 1st January 2016
Part 2 - HEY MICKEY!

Soon we arrived at my favourite place in the whole world... The Magic Kingdom!!

We stopped to capture the magical moment right before we entered
25848841390_56b326914a_b.jpg

I was so happy to finally be here!!
We had fastpasses booked for Space Mountain so we headed straight there... only to find that it was DOWN...
anigif_enhanced-buzz-21049-1435275954-9.gif

BUT... Actually that's not too bad because now we would get a floating fastpass and that meant that we could use it when we came back after dinner and even though it would have expired our parents could still ride too! And by parents I mean Dad because Mam doesn't do rollarcoasters!
Our second fastpass for was the one and only....

MICKEY MOUSE

25848907490_a76293127e_b.jpg
He told us he was so happy we had come to see him today.

25516993604_dbb1ccd171_b.jpg
Thanks Mickey!! I'm so happy too!

25519117613_f1ea25a77a_b.jpg
And look you guys.... CHRISTMAS!!

26121765035_fc6191055a_b.jpg

That's all the time we had. We needed to get our buts to dinner at a certain monorail resort. The queue for the monorail was massive so we tried the boat queue. There wasn't a boat for AGES but luckily we made it on the first one. We arrived at the dock right at our restaurant for the night...

26067868785_6148e09f2c_b.jpg

As we came around from the dock we saw two familiar faces coming towards us... OUR PARENTS!! They got the taxi alright and we were really excited to all be together to properly start our holiday.
We checked in at the restaurant and waited to be seated... Any guesses where we are eating??

Part 3 - First meal, how Grand!

Did you guess right??

01%20Sign.jpg

We were seated quickly and our server introduced himself and let us know he'd be with us shortly.

He was... and he brought bread!

25465255923_26cb12b3ce_b.jpg

AND salted butter.... yummy

25463009614_a3450f83f6_b.jpg

Ye that didn't last long

25462978664_7790dffec9_b.jpg

Time to drink

26067644655_f47696d3fb_b.jpg

25794672180_258dabd930_b.jpg

We were on the dining plan and I had asked our waiter if it would be ok for us to order two dinners off our plan (2 credits each so 4 credits) and some appetizers and we would share everything. This wasn't a problem at all and we also had two drinks with our dining plan so we got smoothies

25975031632_7f0dcdaa94_b.jpg

When they brought our dinner out they had very nicely split each meal onto two plates!! Disney always goes that extra mile

26067412285_f2e9ca29c7_b.jpg

How good does this look

My mouth is watering

25974688072_3749c5a238_b.jpg

With our dining plan we got two deserts as well! We had so much food already but there is always room for desert

26041191316_187efffa99_b.jpg

With our tummies full we chatted about the holiday ahead, my parents liked the look of Old Key West on their brief visit so that was a good start!

I wasn't sure if my parents would be up for heading into the park after dinner but they were on a high too so we finished up and made our way to the monorail

Helloooooooo Main Street USA

25461693044_b30facec06_b.jpg

MK was open until midnight tonight so I'd booked fastpasses for Seven Dwarfs Mine Train from 11pm. My parents had not been to MK for years so the whole of the New Fantasyland section was a first for them.

Although my Mam is not a big rollarcoaster fan we had convinced her that this was a must do. I was lucky enough to be the one riding beside her and she LOVED it!! There was a lot of screaming but that's to be expected..

She also totally blocked my face

26029221442_c60cf9226b_b.jpg

We then strolled to Space Mountain to use our fastpasses from earlier. We stopped along the way for a family photo

LOVE this ride!!

25516939844_19324a5099_b.jpg

It was getting close to park close and we were pretty tired from all the traveling so we decided to head out of the park. We caught a bus back to our room, luckily our stop is first on the way back!

We crashed straight away... MK was open for EMH in the morning!

Loving your trip report so far! What did you think of Old Key West? We have booked to go to Saratoga Springs in the summer, and I've heard varying reports. I was wondering if we could swap to OKW.

I am so happy you are writing another TR I loved your previous ones. We are staying at OKW again in September great resort, we have requested to be near hospitality house this time we were as far away as you could get last time I can't wait to get back there.

Day 2 - A Spectacle of Extra Magic and a Mouse Chef!
Saturday 2nd January 2016
Part 1 - Why am I only wearing a t-shirt?

I had not set an alarm for the next morning to allow us to sleep in should we choose to. My body clock was totally zoned in on Disney fun though and I was awake around 6am. Perfect timing to get to MK for EMH at 7am!!

large.gif

I knew Rachel would wake up too and sure enough as soon as moved I hear "are we going to extra magic hours??"
We're so alike!

As we get up Dad is stirring as well so we ask if he wants to join us... He's a big kid so of course he was up for it too! Mam on the other hand was awake but happy to stay in bed and join us later on.

We got dressed and decided we were going to drive to MK because we planned to head out for grocery shopping straight from the park a bit later on. I knew from previous experience that when MK was open for morning EMH they only tend to have the boat running from the car park as most people staying on resort use the Disney transport.

We park up (in a great spot - yah for being early!) and walk to the ticket and transport centre and onto the boat.

I was really excited to get back to the parks so wanted to head right up to the front of the boat so I could see us approaching MK. It wasn't the warmest of mornings and it had just starting raining too! Right at the front of the boat we were exposed to the elements and at this point Dad looks at me and Rachel as we zip our hoodies up and cover our cold ears and says:

"why am I only wearing a t-shirt??"
23836065710_3cfe598f62_b.jpg

I DON'T KNOW DAD!! I mean I know it's Orlando but it's clearly not summer!

This led to what is probably my favourite photo of the entire trip
25655788674_1d434f4a84_b.jpg

I love it because it just captured our silly mood perfectly!!!

Almost there
26260684745_a01d79f228_b.jpg

Quick scan of the magic band and we were in!
26234741786_dd00c23e52_b.jpg

We stopped for a photo with the Christmas decorations
25848914220_72d80302c4_b.jpg

WHOOOOOOP!!!! WHO NEEDS SLEEP AT DISNEY!!!!
25519127683_eabea901e1_b.jpg

Dad's only request when getting up at the crack of dawn was that we took him for a coffee so our first stop was Starbucks.

Ooooooh something shiny
26168220812_d964a3dba8_b.jpg

Aaaaaaaaand he's back
25657970753_c213292bb6_b.jpg

The park was EMPTY!! It was so nice! I think a lot of people don't realise that during peak times Magic Kingdom sometimes opens at 8am and has EMH from 7am! Aw well.. benefits of being a obsessive planner!

Can you guess what ride we hit first??? Well of course... SPACE MOUNTAIN!!
26194411741_1b0f6649ae_b.jpg

Except I didn't go in because I also got a large coffee and there was no way I could drink mine as fast as Dad! Also I kinda wanted a moment to myself. Just to take it all in. I looked back at the photo of us on the boat and sent it on to my boyf (prince charming) which he thought was hilarious.

I had a bit of a browse around the Space Mountain store and found a Space Mountain t-shirt for our 5K run (more on that later)

While in the area we thought we'd give buzz a go. I wanted to max out as some point during the trip but I hadn't actually looked at the tips and tricks online at this point.

Hey there Buzz...
25657963553_938a426720_b.jpg

I still won... WHOOOOOOP!! #winning

I'm so NOT a humble winner

We took a stroll out towards New Fantasyland so Dad could take a look around. We jumped onto Goofy's barnstormer (shortest ride ever) and got to re-ride again straight away as there was nobody in line!

Afterwards we went on a trip under the sea...
26260647945_e8a5cc9763_b.jpg

We were singing along the whole round.... "Darling it's better down where it's wetter take it from meeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee"

We came out and spotted a CM over by Triton striking a pose for us. He was so serious and didn't move the whole time we watched him!
26234711666_9c779e3d1e_b.jpg

Dad wanted in on the action so made his way over to pose for us too!
25987780610_d40da00412_b.jpg

So funny!

Dad wanted more photos so I got another in front of the ship
26168184242_d6ba8df03e_b.jpg

What is he like??!

Now before we came to Orlando I'd been checking out Disney Haul videos on youtube (by checking out I mean I got addicted and watched them ALL THE TIME)

And... one thing that kept popping up in the videos was a special item from my favourite movie.

Lumiere
51aeva0xcNL._SY355_.jpg

Isn't he wonderful??

And he flickers just like a real candle!

So... I figured we would head to Bonjour! Village Gifts to see if we could pick one up.

BUT HE WAS SOLD OUT PARK WIDE
54a78ad77197d_-_ugly_crying_21.gif

WHYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY??!!!!!

The did have Cogsworth though... so I just had to buy him to stop the tears flowing....

I was planning to get Lumiere and then see how my spending went over the trip and decide on Cogsworth but oh well!!
26260616425_00308eab3d_b.jpg

Rachel and Dad decided to get him too between them so they could have one back home in Dublin.

I LOVE this jigsaw but it was also out of stock
26194362851_5bcbde8f3e_b.jpg

Dad said he needed the loo so me and Rachel gave each other 'the look'

TA DAAAAAAAA
26194356061_e3fc90d86f_b.jpg

Needless to say he was impressed..

We were really feeling the Disney magic and weren't that bothered about getting on rides, we just wanted to walk around and soak it all up! We went into the new haunted mansion gift shop and had a bit of a mooch around

Mam had text at this point to say that she was on her way to the park so we started walking towards the entrance

On the way I popped into the emporium to get...
41LMK70BioL._AC_UL250_SR170,250_.jpg

My first ever Alex and Ani bracelet! So pretty! I went with the Magic Kingdom one because that's where the most magic and memories are for me.

My mam text to say she was coming into the park so we decided to meet at the Christmas Tree
We had a quick catch up with Mam who told us that she had used her refillable mug to get some coffee (FOR FREE) and read her book in bed for a bit. She had got on the bus outside our room and it took her on a nice trip all around the resort before leaving. The reception was only a short 5min walk from our room so we told her to go there from now on.
26264423501_c50becac8e_b.jpg

Our parents had never stayed on Disney property before and although we had explained several times back home how the dinning plan worked we found ourselves regularly answering their questions about it, usually because they were surprised at what they could get for ‘free’

Our fastpass window had opened up for Seven Dwarfs Mine Train (we were actually slightly late at this point) but we had waited for Mam to arrive to ride with us. I can’t get enough of this ride!! It’s so cute and the mine itself is so pretty!

HEIGH HOOOOOOOOOO

It was about 10.30am and the park was starting to get busier now and we were all getting hungry!! It was still quite early though and we wanted to head to Columbia Harbour House for lunch which wasn’t open just yet.

We decided to watch my favourite 3D show
25987408540_c2095bd4d4_b.jpg

Philharmagic!
26194006931_81ac3f22fc_b.jpg

I love this show! I remember it from the time I came to MK when I’d just turned 9yrs old, I remember thinking we had great seats because tinkerbell came right out to me lol

We still had a bit more time to kill before we could finally EAT so we went on Rachel’s favourite ride ever…
1358990402_wdw_mk_itsasmallworld.jpg

Ok so it was her favourite ride ever… when she was 4! She made us go on it OVER and OVER and OVER again… I was haunted by that song!

FINALLY IT WAS FOOD TIME!!
26234662226_a254152564_b.jpg

I’d never eaten at CHH before so was excited to check it out!

So of course my parents were like… ‘What are we allowed to get’

Cue the look
giphy.gif

“A main, a drink and a desert”

Mam: “Can I even get the grilled Salmon for free, it’s more expensive?”

Me: “Yep… any main Mam”

SO MUCH FOOD!!!
25655803294_7631502f36_b.jpg

Dad and Rachel got the lobster roll, I got the chicken breast nuggets (sharing with Rachel) and Mam got the grilled salmon.

The lobster roll was so YUMMY!

I love the Disney Parks designs on the cups… so cute!
25657888683_75b3c243d1_b.jpg

We wanted to head shopping to get some groceries and also pop to the Disney Outlet store so we made our way back to the car.

BB8 MONORAIL!!!
26234293416_82788d4279_b.jpg

I’m a bit of a Star Wars geek as you will see over the next two weeks!

We went to the Outlets first which was a great call because although it was busy when we arrived (around 12pm) it was MAYHEM when we were leaving.

I wasn’t that impressed with this outlet so I didn’t pick up very much. I got a nice light zippy top that you’ll see me sporting later! Rachel did manage to get a Splash Mountain t-shirt for the 5K though… spotting the theme yet???

We headed back to our resort to chill for a little bit before our busy evening ahead.

This is the view from the front of our room
26195949512_a5550ea870_b.jpg

I realised only after I’d booked our ADRs that the Osborne Lights would still be on during our stay which I was SO EXCITED ABOUT!!

I ran through the Osborne Lights in the 2014 W&D Half Marathon but I’d never actually been to the show to see them ‘dance’

We had dinner reservations at Chef Mickeys so our plan was to drive to HS to see the lights show then drive straight to the Contemporary for dinner.

Our plan was got off to a rocky start when I spotted a sign stating that the HS car park was closed and that guests should park at EP. Luckily I spotted in just in time for us to make a handy turn off towards MK. I thought we would be better off parking up at the Contemporary and getting resort transport to HS and back again for dinner.

The Contemporary has this cool screen displaying the bus due times which I believe they are currently trialling in a few resorts.
26288378125_9f2a2eff84_b.jpg

Before too long we were on the bus. It’s a bit annoying that the busses at deluxe resorts are shared but we still made it to HS with plenty of time to make the show.

Helloooooooooooooooooooooooooooo HOLLYWOOD!
25685641333_22b9ab7fc2_b.jpg

Now there was something both me and Rachel really wanted to get, the black sequin Minnie ears. You know the ones that are always available in pretty much every store? Well… not this time!! We had kept an eye out in MK that morning but didn’t see any so I had downloaded the Shop Parks app (which is AMAZING if you like Disney shopping btw) and could see a few stores in HS that had them in stock. We tried them out… no luck!! GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR

It was NOT a good shopping day so far… Oh well… Still at Disney so nothing was going to kill my spirit!

We decided we better get a spot for the show so walked back to the Streets of America.

Another item I’d seen in haul videos (I know it sounds like I’m doing nothing but shopping right now… I swear I don’t have a problem!) was the ‘that’s a wrap’ shirt which was super cute, Christmassy and would be a great reminder of the times I’d been lucky enough to see the lights before they took them down for good.

I asked a CM and she pointed to a stall that had LOADS of them left.

YAH!!!

Rachel said she wasn’t going to get one but I could see the look on her face when she saw them in person and I knew she would totally cave!!

We put our new tops on and stood in the streets waiting for the show. We were stood about ¼ of the way down the street, the area where Goofy would come to start the show was about halfway down so we could kinda see what was going on. It was actually less crowded than I expected.

We weren’t waiting too long before Goofy made his appearance. There was a quick countdown and then the show started!

I have to say the show as AMAZING! I thought having already seen the lights lit up before I wouldn’t be blown away by it but the way the lights ‘danced’ to the music incredible. I’m so sad this was the last year

We took some photos with the lights

One big thing I had decided before the trip that I wanted to buy myself was a Dooney & Bourke cross body bag. I wasn’t too sure what design I wanted and I saw on the shop parks app that they had a special edition Star Wars one so of course I wanted to check that out!

I was having trouble with my signal but I knew the name of the store (Watto's Grotto) but the only CM’s I could find didn’t have a clue what I was talking about! I tried around the Launchpad area but couldn’t find any bags… BOO

It was time to leave the park and go for dinner with the one and only Chef Mickey

The HS Christmas Tree looked so pretty

Day 2 - A Spectacle of Extra Magic and a Mouse Chef!

Saturday 2nd January 2016
Part 3 - Compliments to the Chef Mickey

We quickly caught a bus back to Contemporary. I was really looking forward to this meal and getting some good character photos but I was also starting to feel the effect of our travelling the day before and our early start that morning!

Who needs sleep in Disney right??!
giphy.gif

We arrived at the hotel and made our way up to Chef Mickeys
We registered and were called almost immediately for our pre meal photo

We were seating in the back section on the far side of the buffet. I made my way up to get some food and there was a bit of a queue to get round to the buffet. I got what I think was sweet corn soup which was really creamy and delicious but quite filling to start with!

Loving your trip report so far! What did you think of Old Key West? We have booked to go to Saratoga Springs in the summer, and I've heard varying reports. I was wondering if we could swap to OKW.

I know you weren't asking for my opinion, but I stayed at Old Key West a few years ago and LOVED it. My friend's grandparents are DVD members and got us our room. Really good sized room and there was an adorable little balcony. Pools were very rarely crowded and we were often hanging out in the hot tub much later then we should have been. I'd definitely recommend it. I'm dying to get back there.

Hey! Sorry I had replied to this but it must not have posted correctly!

I LOVED OKW! I really didn't know what to expect but it was a beautiful place to stay, so relaxing and spacious and also in a great location. We liked it so much that we've booked to go back there next year! We were deciding between OKW and Saratoga Springs and the big decider for us was the beds in the room as OKW came with two queen beds.

Does Narcoossees no longer have a dress code? The food looks great.

@lostpro9het , regarding your inquiry to dancingtodisney about a dress code for Narcoossees, I went to the WDW web site and looked up that restaurant. (Whether it's actually enforced, I don't know, but here is what is noted on the official WDW web site for Narcoossees.)

Dress Code
Guests at this Signature Dining experience are asked to adhere to a business casual dress code.
Men may wear slacks, jeans or dress shorts and collared shirts. Jackets are optional.

Women may wear dresses, skirts or dress shorts with blouses or sweaters.

Not permitted in the dining room are tank tops, swimsuits, swimsuit cover-ups, hats for gentlemen, cut-offs, torn clothing and shirts with offensive language or graphics.

Part 1 - What time is it?!

So….. we all got into bed when we arrived back at OKW and I was probably the first to drift off. I slept right through and checked my phone when I woke up and it was around 6.30am. HS was due to open at 8am so I figured I’d get up and have a shower and then get us some coffee in our refillable mugs. I jumped in the shower which woke me up properly, I felt like I’d slept well but still felt quite tired overall. Dad was heading into the bathroom as I came out so I threw on a hoodie and made my way over to the main reception building for coffee.

As I was walking over it was really quite around, I guess we were the only ones crazy enough to be up and about at this time of the morning! I got closer to the main building and it looked like the area that served hot drinks wasn’t open yet. I was pretty sure I had read in our information booklet that it was open at 7am so I checked my phone again. It was 7:05am… IRISH TIME!!!! Meaning it was only 2:05AM Orlando time!!! WHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAT??!

I sat at one of the picnic tables for a bit and took a photo to capture my mood…
26392074590_d8c7825980_b.jpg

Back to the room I went with my empty refillable mugs and tired head! I still had wet hair from my shower but I hopped straight back into bed and slept for another couple of hours. I was awake then again when it was actually6.30am! I told Dad and Rachel what happened and they just laughed at me and Dad says ‘ye, I was wondering why you had a shower at 2am’ you’d think he would have said something to me at the time!! Rachel said she woke up too and was wondering what I was doing heading out at that hour but just assumed I couldn’t sleep! GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR

So second time round I went out to the reception area and got us some hot drinks. I’m pretty sure Rachel asked for powerade and they didn’t have any and whatever I did bring back she had zero interest in… aw well!

Again it was just the three of us to start the day and Mam stayed behind to chill with her book. HS has thrill rides so it works well for us three to go early, ride and re-ride our favourites. We made our way over to the reception bus stop and waited for a HS bus.

We waited quite a bit and then realised we should’ve driven!! I don’t know why we didn’t think to drive!
26061168413_5e51de4269_b.jpg

A cruise line bus pulled in.. this is something that is on my to do list... one day!!
25767388384_151148bfe4_b.jpg

I love HS especially when the queues aren’t too long and I can get on two of my favourite rides in all of WDW. Unfortunately (and what seems to happen EVERYTIME I get to HS early) one of the big two were down (RR this time) so we went over to tower of terror first.

26061158003_2bd3ca9039_b.jpg

There was a queue to get into the queue lol
25769482343_c61b37f5cb_b.jpg

This was just CM's scanning magic bands to make sure that it was only resort quests getting in the ride queue.

Oooooh scary lights

Lift selfie
26346290686_e6fe602ff1_b.jpg

We had all the drops and then we came down to the bit at the end and that’s when it happened… that little threat he makes right at the end about becoming a ‘permanent resident of the twilight zone’ our vehicle just stopped….. then it went dark…. Then nothing…. It was actually pretty creepy!

We didn’t get anything over the intercom for a while and then we were told the ride would move shortly…. But it didn’t… then the lights came on so I was a little less creeped out.
26061149003_c0c01a0363_b.jpg

Meanwhile the other lifts seemed to be working fine as we could hear people screaming away. Finally we were rescued and asked if we wanted to re-ride and skip the queue via a secret entrance….

HELL YE!!! I love anything backstage!

Our second ride was just as much fun and with no hiccups at the end. By the time we got out Rockin Rollercoaster was up and running but had a big queue! We decided to jump into the single rider queue.

Dad and Rachel ended up sitting together anyway

As we are all Star Wars fans (Rachel a little less so) we wanted to check out the new Star Wars store Watto’s Grotto and I’d checked on the parks app to make sure that they had the dooney and bourke I wanted. We made our way over and found it no problem this time thanks to the wifi and my phone!

First thing I did was try to seek out my bag and it turns out it’s been out of stock for weeks park wide and they’ve no idea when it’ll be back…. WHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAT?! Why is Disney making taking my money so hard this time round!!

Sadness
Adam-Brody1.gif

Luckily there was a yoda nearby to cheer me up! A CM had a very cool robot yoda that responded to comands! So much fun!

Thanks yoda… if you were cheaper I would take you home and play with you every day…. ‘turn yoda turn’

Now even more so than yoda there was something waiting close by that was bound to cheer me up… SANTA GOOFY!!!

I spotted a sign that said he was due to meet at 10am which was only 10mins away but it was starting to RAIN and RAIN HARD! I was over by the rope to get into the viewing area (which was covered) and the CM was like ‘it’ll be opening shortly’

REALLY?! Can’t you see it’s wet out here!!

I think she caught a glimpse of my rainy despair and let us in pretty much straight away.
