Trip Report No Bug Movie...promise! *COMPLETED*

It is with great excitement I sit here in the Atlanta airport, Disney bound with my middle child. While this is my 5th WDW trip this year (I *may* have an addiction problem...) my DS (henceforth known as Drumr) has not been to the world in 3 years...before MagicBands! Don't feel too sorry for him...his first trip was at age 2 and he has been numerous times since. (Warning to parents of young kids...be careful what traditions you start!)

Hi Tuvalu and Drumr!! I hope you have a fun and safe flight to WDW!!! Wish I could go; I just arrived home from work and I'm eating Cheerios for dinner  :p -- I'm certain that you two will find a much more pleasant dinner than mine, once you arrive at WDW. ;) Enjoy!!

MagicBands are wonderful things...when they work. When they don't, it can be a real pain! Despite having done online check in, and the fact that we were next in line, our front desk experience took 25 minutes!

The guest in front of us was having issues (too ridiculous to comment on here) and when it was our turn, my Minnie band would not work (despite having worked perfectly fine at DME.) You know it's not a good thing when the CM takes your band to the secret place in back and is gone for what seems like forever!

Finally my band returned from the secret place and we were on our way.

First stop was the End Zone food court to get our mugs and a snack. Now I am a staunch anti-DDP gal (sorry, DDP fans) but we got free dining with this stay so I am going to have to deal with being one of "those people" trying to figure out what is included and what gives the most "bang for the buck." (Yes, the QS plan was free, but we upgraded to regular plan.)

I know there are a lot of folks aching for a purple MagicBand, but did you know there is...TA DA...a purple refillable mug ?!! You are jealous now, right?!

For the record, we paid cash for the cookies. $2.99 didn't seem like a wise use of a snack credit.

This was Drumr's first experience with RapidFill machines. He was really thirsty, so I grabbed a table and told him to go get his drink. (Foolish mom didn't think to instruct him first!)

He returned with a perplexed look on his face and exclaimed, "The machine yelled at me!" :jawdrop:

We then fumbled our way in the dark to Home Run Hotel. We had a 50/50 chance of picking the right way to turn...naturally the odds beat us!

There will be pics to come in the morning when the sun is up...now it is time for this pampered mom to try out a value room mattress (hope I don't feel the pea!)

I just laughed out loud over this! :p Along with the good things at Disney, there are also some really lame, silly things they do, too.

Oh, I really like the design on the refillable cup--love that purple cover, too!

As for your Magic Band, I'm glad they fixed it for you. But I'm still perplexed as to why those things are still glitchy for a number of guests. Certainly there's been ample time to fix the various kinks in the system. :banghead: But at least you were able to get it fixed right away, so hopefully, the rest of your band usage should be fine.

Enjoy your day today. Looking forward to pix and updates when convenient for you. :)

Happy to report that not only was the mattress comfortable, the sheets were "surprisingly soft" (Drumr's words).

Although I did not get as much sleep as I would have liked...but this is Disney, who has time to sleep?! Plus, everyone knows that Mom is always the first up ready to serve her family (yep, I like those 50s and 60s sitcoms ;)) I got myself ready and went to pick up our breakfast at the food court. I passed a bride all decked up in her finery just outside our room...at 6:45 am  ! (And I thought I got up early!) Wished her congratulations and continued on my way...and then got to offer my best wishes to the groom when I passed him shortly after.

It was still dark when I returned with the breakfast tray. Drumr was in the shower. After we eat, we'll catch the bus to our first destination...DHS, Drumr's favorite park.
