Rumor Stitch's Great Escape Replacement— Don’t Hold Your Breath

Now that sounds like TDO.

There seem to be 2 primary complaints about Autopia.

1) It's loud and smelly.
2) It takes up space.

Seeing as point 1 could be rectified rather easily and the set could be updated, I'm not very sympathetic to that. We should be challenging Disney to constantly plus attractions, not throw them in the dustbin. Though I do think some are being just a touch dramatic.

As for the second point, here's an aerial of Tomorrowland:

Between CoP and Buzz and the large area to the south of Buzz.

Everyone complains about Autopia's land usage, but doesn't complain about a retention pond and a parking lot.

I can assure you that a 21st Century Disney would eliminate that path if another attraction was put there. They're not into intimate and quiet areas like they used to be.

Without Autopia, the ambiance would be non existent.
I say use both.

I'm in the camp that generally it is better to add than replace. With that said, it seems as though this is one of the spots that was vaguely hinted at as being a future site for Wreck It Ralph. If TDO intends to build a racing-based attraction in Tomorrowland, why would they not build it on the site of a current racing-based attraction, especially since the likely IP is more appealing as a bridge between Fantasyland and Tomorrowland than a true resident of either?

Another point of interest is that I believe someone (maybe @marni1971) mentioned that there's various proposals for this space, some of which would keep it mostly intact. What if we're looking at a situation in which a Wreck It Ralph theme is coming either way, but it's a matter of deciding between throwing some themed set pieces and new cars out there and tearing the whole thing down to build a new (still racing *cough* Sugar Rush *cough* based) ride?

But Sugar Rush isn't Tomorrowland.

Even if they somehow came up with a hybrid 50/50 space bugs in sugar rush concept it would still be shoehorned in to fit the land. No Id much rather Buzz get retrofitted for a WiR Space Bug blaster game and then see The WiR motion seat theater thing be set up to look like a retro futuristic arcade (A tour of Grand Central...hijinks ensues) that then dumps into Fantasyland to set guests up to riding a Sugar Rush remodel. In an ideal world.

For any Sugar Rush ride I would hope they consider placing it in Fantasyland. Or somehow making Autopia Speedway part of Fantasyland.

I say use both.

Use them all!

The CoP Parking Lot: 2.2 Acres
South of SM: 4.1 Acres
Speedway: 4.1 Acres
North of SM: 10.6 Acres
RoA and Beyond: 27 Acres (and more if you nix TSI).

For comparison:
CoP: .8 Acres

BTMR: 2.7 Acres
Space M: 2.8 Acres

So it's looking like the Speedway will remain, to a degree? The hopes of, say, a brand new attraction should be put to rest?

That won't happen. This thread will go on and on and on and on and on - even in the year 2034 there will be members clamouring about a rumoured new attraction.

No offense, but this is the park news and rumors area, you don't HAVE to read it, but for those of us who love to hear what may or may not be coming....would prefer you sit quietly..thanks
